Is it time to trade Cory Schenider?

Except Cory isn't over NHL .500 as a Devil (27-30-15).  Although last year he should have been way over .500, this year he hasn't played nearly at the level he was at last year.

- Cory Schneider has started 73 games for the Devils. In 16 of those starts (or 22%) Cory has been given the L when giving up 1 or less goals in regulation.

- In 19 of his 27 wins, he has given up one goal or less. (so that's 35/73 starts giving up 1 goal or less in regulation)

- Cory has only 6 wins when giving up 2 goals

- In 73 starts, Cory has 3 win when giving up 3 goals.

The only reason anyone possibly has issues with Cory is because the Devils can't score. W/L record for goalies is irrelevant.

I was thinking about this tonight, results from this game aside because I didn't watch - BUT

Only way I trade Cory - is in a package for Edmonton's #1 overall pick without giving up our own 1st round draft pick. SO essentially getting us 2 picks in the top 5.

maybe even #1 and #2

The masses are mobilizing in my favor.

You honestly believe that Lou would trade Schneider after giving up a first round pick, paying him $8 M for 2 years along with signing him for another 6 years paying him $6M per year ?

WD, sorry for making my post personal towards you, my bad.

This thread should not be, consider who started it.

Agreed.  But here we are, with the typical know-nothings stirring the pot.

Can't hurt to have the discussion I guess, thankfully it'll never, ever happen.

Don't like it then don't comment.

Calm your tits.

He owes Cory absolutely nothing. If you have two comparable goaltenders and one is making 5.5 million less, which one do you think the GM will keep?

I am sorry for not understanding do we have two comparable goaltenders? One making $5.5M less? Who are they, please tell me. You not talking about one that has played only 3 games and won one. If yes, aren't you premature? Do you want the Devils to build for the future or just trade for trade sake?

Ruutu is a top 6 forward on this year team who is built for the Devils system. By comparison, Lotki, is no longer in the league and was poor on the boards.

Top 6 ? Are you kidding? lol Ruutu has averaged 11 min per game as a devil so far + Ruutu is costing a lot more than Lotki and his contract was longer.

At best it was an exchange of service for both teams. Far from a steal

Just because Deboer is too foolish to give him more minutes does not change the fact that he has been one of our best players.

Being one of the best Devils player on this team doesnt make you a good player in general.

his TOI average would be even lower if it wasnt for all our injuries too.

There's no way you're not simply trolling, no one could be this delusional

Maybe the Devils shouldn't help the Oilers fix their problem and gamble by creating the very same problem and gamble for themselves.

This is terrible logic. We have a much more experienced team with a group of strong young defensemen. How does bringing in a single forward create the problems Edmonton has? I'm not agreeing that this trade should happen, but that doesn't make any sense
