peteyvegas
Is that annual? Or is it salary, signing bonus and incentive package?
NJSD
I'd take any one of those salaries as my yearly income.....
sammyk
Interesting, Martin is seemingly making more money while Hale is the first rounder!
NJayDevil
With a million dollar salary, I don't see Lou sending him down to Albany then. A million dollar player in Albany just wouldn't be up Lou's alley.

Pando's ChiCk
Martin Brodeur $6,891,103 I thought Marty made $8,000,000.. I think I read it in some article, I think durign the playoffs when they told him about his divorce he said he needs to go out and play with a clear mind they don't play him 8 million for nothing..Oh well.. guess I was wrong. NJayDevil
The figure he makes right now is deferred cash. Once his contract is up, he will still be getting $$ from the Devs until it reaches $40 million over 5 years.

msweet
I think we have some insight here into why Giroux and Brown are out and Martin and Hale are in. It's like in football when the $6 million quaterback plays worse than the $500,000 backup. Somehow the backup bever seems to get a chance. Pepperkorn
So -- I was thinking maybe the writer was a dope and saw their AHL pay - not realizing what he was looking at thought 'that can't be right' and added a zero without checking his facts. Is it so far fetched?
halfsharkalligatorhalfman
i think probably they got a raise based on making the team, which makes the question of why they made the team even more ponderous.

ratsgirl
check the list against NHLPA.com, those are the compensation numbers listed there. Edited October 15, 2003 by ratsgirl
Chico
He got a chance because the top 2 quarterbacks got hurt if I remeber correctly. He got his chance when Trent Green went down...my point is he's not hurt now and he's making 7 mil+ and he's on the bench while his backup who is making approx 650k is starting. Boy we are way off topic with this one!
