The rules are simple.. assemble an All-Devils team of 12 forwards, 6 defensemen, 2 goalies, and 1 black-ace (any position) along with 3 coaches. (2 assistants, 1 HC) You are to assume that all players are playing in their prime, and time-served\longevity means nothing. Doesn’t matter if they played 1 game with the team or 1,000. If they wore the sweater, they’re eligible! So here's mine.. Shanahan – Gilmour – Jagr Parise - Nieuwendyk - Kovalchuk Richer – Elias – Mogilny Verbeek - Andreychuk - Guerin (Arnott; Black Ace) Stevens -- Fetisov Niedermayer -- Daneyko Rafalski -- Albelin Brodeur & Vanbiesbrouck Pat Burns; Head Coach Larry & Oates.. (Brylin, Madden, White, etc) I chose to create mine on pure individual talent as a opposed to chemistry.. based on the fact that I already know what the Kid Line can do together. I've seem what Hells Angels did together. I'd long daydream of what my team would\could do together in their prime(s) however. But if you'd like to set one up with the A-Line as your #1.. and the Crash Line as your #4, etc. you're absolutely free to do so. sundstrom Posted August 3, 2013 Share Posted August 3, 2013 you're basically asking to find the best players to ever where a devils sweater for any length of time. so obviously the HOF'ers have to be there (jagr, gilmour, shanahan, andreychuk) regardless of their play/length as devils. under that criteria, phil housely has to be one of the d-men on the list. hell, you could argue igor larionov should be on the list. he's a HOF'er if you consider his russian career. I tried to create my team with mega-stars from the mid 90's, who's individual talent was that of HOF caliber. Which is why I left out 80's players like Statsney, Muller, etc. Good suggestion though. Colorado Rockies 1976 Posted August 7, 2013 Share Posted August 7, 2013 Good thread...though I think the best way to do this is to build a team of all-time Devils based on what they did as Devils, as opposed to what they did over the rest of their careers. That's why I can't make a big deal out of Stastny, Nicholls, Gilmour, etc, as far as their Devils' careers went, compared to the guys who were in their primes.
