You gotta feel bad for Terry though, he had the whole side of the net open to win it all and he hit the post. I'm a supporter of several European teams (5, to be exact, including my hometown Wisla) and United is one of them. The tempo wasn't too fast and neither team really played its best football. The first 30 minutes of the game or so were dominated by Manchester, but they couldn't find a way to beat Czech for the 2nd time. If they had scored, the game probably would have ended in 90 minutes. In the 2nd half Chelsea had some more chances and extra time was just awful, not much action, everyone was extremely tired, the play was being stoppped time after time. But the shootout was dramatic, when Terry was taking his shot, I was pretty sure it's all over, but suddenly it all went the other way. Big, big triumph for ManU! Oh, and when it comes to Terry... I usually feel bad for guys in such situations, I sorta felt bad for Getafe, when "my" Bayern eliminated them in the dead last seconds of overtime, but these are the penalties. If Terry had scored, Ronaldo would have been the one in pain. Either way, someone has to suffer, unluckilly. Glory, Glory, Man United! Oh, and remember: Manchester United = The Red Devils. They were so close to losing that one my heart nearly dropped. I'm hoping to pick up a copy of this game or a dvd about Man U's run soon. Great day for Man U supporters! Chimaira_Devil_#9 Posted May 21, 2008 Share Posted May 21, 2008 I was devastated, and i feel for JT completley he is my Chlesea hero and it takes a lot of guts to step up and take a penalty, the fact he slipped and hit the post will haunt me forever. Apart from the first 30 minutes United were Awfull, chelsea outshot United and for the rest of the game outworked them in midfeild, the fact we hit the bar and the post says it all. Once again you show a complete inability to post anything correct . This was united's 3rd champions league title . And what reason did you have to call this one to united other than you have heard of them and they won. You do know its not compulsory for you to post in every thread you know? As for van des sar making a good save it was more a terrible penalty from one of the biggest frauds in world football. Sucks that such a big title was settled by penatly kicks, but thats the nature of soccer. Instead of penalty kicks they should just keep doing corner kicks until someone scores and the other side doesn't match. Or set pieces from outside the box. Sort of like College Football.
