titans04
Here are some photos from Albany's camp courtesy of Mike Ashmore. He just started a new hockey blog called 5 For Writing that covers everything in the world of hockey. I recommend checking it out. He has an interview with Devils prospect Maxime Clermont about his goalie mask and will have interviews with the Devils other goalie prospects up soon. He also reports on his Trenton Titans blog that former Devils prospect Kory Nagy has been signed by the club. Banwell has also signed in Trenton and the odds of one of the goalies from Albany heading to Trenton are very good. Maybe others to follow. Triumph
I believe the first year of his new contract is one way and he cannot be sent down. Any player who was on an AHL Clear Day roster is eligible to sign an AHL contract. The more I think about it, the more Gionta would just be taking up space. The Devils know what he can and cannot do - why have guys like Mills and Gionta there? They're also going to have players who brush up against the AHL games limit, throwing another one on to the pile complicates matters further. DJ Eco
They're kickin' ass and takin' names right now in Philly... 3-0, 10 minutes in!!!

For now all Mills has is a straight up ECHL deal with Utah.
RowdyFan42
Someone in the Devils-Phantoms preseason game thread asked about streaming for the games. Preseason games aren't usually streamed -- mainly because the facilities used for exhibitions tend not to have video capabilities, and most teams don't even bother with an audio stream -- but the league does have a regular-season streaming service. AHL Live Packages and Pricing Away Pass - all away games for one team (includes archives) - $124.99 (early bird $99.99) Team Pass - all home and away games for one team (includes archives) - $199.99 (early bird $149.99) All Access - all teams, all games (includes archives) - $399.99 (early bird $349.99) individual pricing: $6.99/game 5-pack: $6.49/game 10-pack: $5.99/game
thefiestygoat
I'm too tired to post anything from TG's game recap but Five For Writing has an interesting article with quotes from the 4 goalies vying for 2 spots in Albany here.
thefiestygoat
http://blog.timesunion.com/hockey/devils-roster-shaping-up-earlier-than-usual/13270/ Twenty-eight players participated. Another five stayed in Newark for treatment on injuries, the most serious of which appear to be to defenseman Eric Gelinas and center Kelly Zajac, both “out indefinitely.” Center Steve Zalewski, left wing J.S. Berube and goaltender Maxime Clermont are considered “day to day.” Albany did reassign right wing Bryan Hacyzk and defenseman Eric Baier to ECHL Trenton. thefiestygoat
Here are the highlights from the first Albany game last week: The account also has a lot of interviews so check it out if you have some time. ECHL: Clermont was assigned to Elmira today. Wedgewood came in relief for Trenton after Hovinen left with an injury. He stopped all 20 shots he faced in 39:35 and earned his 2nd win as Trenton topped Reading 3-1.
Chimaira_Devil_#9
Whats the deal Raman Hrabarenka? Is he still a tryout or now one of our prospects or purely a singing for Albany? He made some nice plays in the Higlights (but also gave the pcuk away a few times).
twillms73
I was at the Titans game last night and Wedgewood looked very good. Coming in relief and, for some reason, not getting warm-up time, even though it was due to injury. Made a couple a big stops, including a sick post-to-post save in the 3rd. He was 1st star of the game. Wedgewood came in relief for Trenton after Hovinen left with an injury. He stopped all 20 shots he faced in 39:35 and earned his 2nd win as Trenton topped Reading 3-1. JWomp
Not that you want to see anyone get hurt, but the injury to Hoivinen could be good news for Wedgewood.

Jas0nMacIsaac
Whats the deal Raman Hrabarenka? Is he still a tryout or now one of our prospects or purely a singing for Albany? He made some nice plays in the Higlights (but also gave the pcuk away a few times). He gets the puck from behind his own line out pretty well. He didn't seem to have any trouble with speed up the wing. It's still far too early consider him a legit prospect but he didn't look out of place out there. Triumph
I am kinda perplexed that Hraberenka was on the first unit power play, but it is a developmental league. I mean, this is a guy who it looks like didn't even play the power play in junior until the end of last year. njd3b1ink
Apparently Pesonen tipped Butler's one timer so the second goal is Pesonen from Butler and Larsson
