  1. Holtz might be the only thing Fitz has gotten right all year lol, but yes it's still a bit unseemly that you make it out like he's the reason your buddy got fired when he's barely a pimple on this team's sorry behind
  2. What I can't get over is they got up 2-0, they looked like they were gonna run these a$$holes out of the building after fifteen minutes the way they did earlier in the season in NJ and they...just...stopped...playing Honestly this is a huge offseason for Fitz, and not just for goaltending and coaching. He really needs to examine the room and determine if it's JUST a coaching issue or if there are chemistry issues that need to be ironed out in the room a la Lou binning off Sykora post-2002. Games like tonight definitely have happened way too often this season and lend you to think they need a bit of a culture change, more than just a coach will bring - unless the coach is Lemaire or Burns 2.0 which isn't happening.
  3. Not as much as Jack hates Vitek and Schmid lol...dude couldn't wait to say 'we got the saves' a couple times after recent wins. Well you got the saves tonight, and y'all still sucked. I don't actually hate him and he's definitely played injured this year but he also definitely needs an attitude wake-up call, clearly so do a lot of people on this team.
  4. This might be the worst of all -Losing a 2-0 lead -Losing to a team you actually had pretty well taken advantage of at home the prior two games this year! (a rarity) -Playing gutless when the game got tied in the third period -Actually getting enough goaltending where you can't blame the loss on that the way others - including Mr. they pay to see me play - have this year.
  5. Nemec wasn't even hitting the wall until after he got benched lol...maybe the power of suggestion
  6. But the deserve-to-win-o-meter... LOL
  7. I thought the bAHL stuff was harsh until seeing the replay of the goal, but that one play alone was bad enough to warrant a demotion.
  8. When hasn't that been the case with him or Kahkonen? That's been the only 'difference' in the Devils re: Green and Ruff. Even I foolishly thought at 2-0, well at least the Sabres are the one bad team we do beat. Guess these fvckfaces thought it was over at 2-0 too.
  9. I made a similar mistake a few years back in April, when I was dressed up for the 55 degree day it had been as opposed to it feeling fifteen degrees cooler at Citi early nightfall. This time, I brought everything, sweater, heavy jacket and even gloves. It was still cold cause of the wind but at least bearable lol
  10. Anyone who ever romanticizes Opening Day, never experienced a late March NYC one lol…game had serious 2014 outdoor game vibes only without the snow

  12. Typical Pete, guy comes in and walks Lindor on five pitches then he pops out getting greedy with the first hack
  13. Among those only Palmieri really was any kind of a substantive move, the rest were cheap hold the fort guys at most, it's amazing he practically got back what he traded for Palms in a Stempniak deadline deal, but they really didn't spend as much as they could have for short-term solutions (which also would have prevented some of the kids playing too much, too soon) which was more my point - until he was on the hot seat going into what turned out to be his last season, Shero was obsessed with having $25-30 million under the cap every year and other than the Taylor Hall move - and even then we shed Larsson's contract so it was adding $2 million rather than $6 million - they never really 'weaponized' that cap space at all, it was a bit of an annoyance with me and clearly the owners are fine with spending up to the cap under Fitz and in Shero's final season. Compare that with Cohen/Stearns who are giving out a bunch of one-year deals while 'over' the cap at basically a 90% markup with the luxury tax. If things do go splat this year, they could maybe flip some guys like JD or Severino for more futures and maybe some of the ones we have debut later this season. Expectations kind of help the mindset...this year's Devils team is my least favorite ever this side of the 2007 Mets. While with the Mets it's clearly been advertised as a transition year since last deadline but it's not like they're totally peacing out of trying to win.
