AUtigers350z
Thought I would drop by and introduce myself. I'm Eric and I am currently in my 4th year at Auburn University in Alabama. Long way off to be a Devils fan, right? Ever since I got into hockey a few years ago, I have really enjoyed watching the Devils play. A mild fascination with the team and lots of time spent reading about NJ's past (players, coaches, etc.) has turned me into a pretty dedicated fan. I'd LOVE to make it up to the Prudential Center sometime to get to see the guys play on home ice, but being a college student, funds are pretty scarce at the moment. I did, however, take a trip in December to Atlanta to watch them beat the Thrashers (one game before Marty broke the shutout record!). Ironically enough, I remember some Thrashers fans sitting behind us chanting "Brodeur sucks!", where I proceeded to turn around and yell "F**k Kovalchuk!!!" Obviously, my feelings on the matter have changed given the current circumstances Hopefully he will be the spark we need to get back on track and add another cup to the Devils legacy. Looking forward to talking to you guys on here! GO DEVILS!!
Colin226
Haha awesome story and welcome to the boards.. I love when we get out-of-state fans because I know I sometimes feel like the Rangers and Flyers suck up a ton of our potential fan base and try to overshadow us.. So it's nice when someone who isn't from NJ becomes a fan.. It's a small personal victory I'm sure Kovy would forgive you

There aren't too many hockey fans down here, but most people that just start to get into it jump on the Pens bandwagon. Made it that much sweeter to beat them 4/4 games this season One of my really good friends' family is from STL so they are big Blues fans. We are flying up to STL this next weekend to see them play the Leafs on Friday and the Caps on Saturday. Obviously I would prefer to see the Devils play, but living in Alabama I'll jump on any chance to attend an NHL game! Well.. 1.5 hours until we get to watch Kovy play for NJ!!
