Mike Brown
Trading Merrill, gelly, severson. Would be a mistake. You don't understand that. I never suggested it. Hence why you don't understand my point.
Muevelos
And further down you said we have like 80 defenseman. Only one with value are our four young guys, Larsson, gelly, Merrill and severson. As you said eighty defensemen only one bringing anything impacting back is those four. Trading those four is completely ridiculous. Fayne is the only other one liable to bring back. But it won't be sufficient for what your suggestion is The Devils will make the playoffs if any of 3 of the 4 happen...... Schneider gets most of the starts. I'm talking like 80-90% of the starts. Gelinas gets called back up, and is in the lineup consistently. Elias comes back, and stays healthy. Lou acquires at least one more top 6 forward like Cammalleri or Hudler. Ideally we could use 2 more. THANK YOU! I couldn't agree more. Gelinas also has been so much better offensively, it's no wonder why we only have 3 goals in the past 2 games. That and Elias missing. Muevelos
You right you got me lol. It would be dumb for Lou to do Dude come on. That post in no way shape or form suggests that we trade one of our young defensemen.
SterioDesign
Its pretty simple to me. Trading at the deadline is gambling of course. It all depends on your situation and your chances. Comparing with gambling or betting money in real life... If youre well off and can afford it and that if you lose, wtv. A good example would be the Pens last season, they had a crazy amount of assets and had a very solid lineup, could afford to move assets and go all in without affecting their future. They were contenders even before the moves. They spent a lotttttt and they sh!t the bed in the playoffs but it didnt cost them long term, they still have the best defensive depth in the league IMO, bunch of fans even want to trade letang cause they have too many good young dman and hes too expensive. But were not in a situation to take that kind of risk, if we gambke and lose, its gonna hurt a awful lot. we dont have a first round pick, we dont have a good nhl team, our roster is badly structured, too much dead weight and we dont have forwards depth at all. Our D is the only bright spot for the future, lets not fvck that up.
