  1. Waiving both guys keeps their options open. If they can't come to a contract agreement w/ Stralman, then both of them will likely stay on the big club. If they can/do sign Stralman, then one of the two will be sent down. Which one will depend on whether they decide to carry 7 or 8 D-men.
  2. I'm going to assume they'll score at least one goal over the course of an 82 game season. Boulton.
  3. Avery and Betts on waivers? Where's Peter Prucha at right now? And how about Ryan Hollweg? I want to assemble a team of post-lockout Rangers fan favorites. They seem to be going pretty cheaply lately...
  4. Same here. This sucks. (Maryland)
  5. If I have to watch the "Brad Richards comes to New York" commercial one more time, I'm going to puke.
  6. It would be helpful if they included a larger range of incomes in that article. There's a pretty big gap between $75,000 and $1 million, and that's likely where the real inequity lies. Households making $150,000-$200,000 probably have much less investment income than the millionares, and are being the taxed on a much larger portion of their income than the $75,000 household.
  7. Isn't it supposed to be the backup goalie doing the GM stuff?
  8. What's Pat Quinn up to nowadays? Or maybe Mike Keenan wants to get out of the studio for a while? There - now that I've said that, any other name will be a relief.
  9. I get MSG here in Maryland (all hail DirecTV), it just gets blacked out whenever the game gets picked up nationally. The NHL Network is carrying tonight's game, so that's where I have to watch it. And of course they had to pick up the Penguins' feed.
  10. More Penguins announcers awesomeness - apparently the Devils players are "chess pieces without personalities".
  11. +1 I may have to resort to watching hockey on mute...
  12. DirecTV and Center Ice in Maryland - Unless it's a national game (or a Caps game), I always get the Devils feed. And if it's aired in HD (ie. not on MSG+2), I get it in HD. The Versus and Dolan fiascos were a pain in the butt, but it's been perfect ever since.
  13. FROZEN TENNIS COURTS!!! That's where I learned to skate when I was 3-4. Stupid lawyers got involved in the early 90's and now they don't freeze them anymore... I play in a roller league, and play a little bit of pond hockey on those few occasions when it gets cold enough for long enough down here. My wife can skate, and my son is three and we're currently working on it. He got a tiny little pair of Easton hockey skates for Christmas when he was two, and we've been taking him sporadically ever since.
  14. "If the events relating to Friday night reflect the state of the league, I need to re-think whether I want to be a part of it."
  15. That's a pretty big assumption. I'm assuming the conversation, if it happened at all, went more along the lines of "Watch yourself out there. We need you on the ice, not in the stands."
