The Boston Bruins have secured a permit to hold a carnival on Vancouver’s seawall  showcasing  the NHL’s greatest goaltender implosions, a move that could seriously jeopardize Roberto Luongo’s plan to clear his mind ahead of game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Luongo, who says he walks along the scenic sea wall to clear his mind before games, will now have to face video footage of every goal he has let up in Boston this series, as well as dozens of motion activated audio devices that chant “Roberto” when someone walks by them, according to the Bruins.

“We just wanted to do our part and showcase a little of Vancouver’s storied playoff history,” said newly hired Bruins marketing president, Mike Richter.

The Vancouver City Council mistakenly rubber-stamped the Bruins permit application this week while distracted during a meeting of the Parade Planning Committee.

Luongo said he isn’t concerned by the carnival and has stood tall in the face of adversity before, citing his ability to not let in a goal in rowdy Boston for the first five minutes of game 6. As for the next five minutes?

“Well, it’s hard to stop those shots if you’re not a good goaltender. They’re easy saves for someone like Tim Thomas who’s paying attention to what’s happening in front of him,” he said. “But it’s easy to get distracted when you have someone like Cory Schneider on the bench doing such a sh!t job of opening and closing the bench door. I had to step in.”
