I know there is still moves to be made (I expect Lou to make one or two more minor moves), but like I said above, as of now where do you rank the Devils in the Atlantic and where do you see them finishing in the East?
Here's what I think
Atlantic:
Philadelphia
New Jersey (4th/5th in East)
Pittsburgh
New York Rangers
New York Islanders

Personally, I dont like these kind of threads only because its just a shot in the dark. Its easier to be able to tell how we will do once you see a few games in the pre-season.

I think we will make a good run. We pretty much have the exact same team that we finished with and had that amazing run towards the end that scared the sh!t out of everyone else in the NHL world...including other teams fans.

I usually like to wait as well, but the preseason isn't exactly close yet.

i picked third also for the same reasons here. we dont know who the coaches are going to be and who might be traded during the off season, plus we dont even know who is going to be our 5th and 6th defense menPittsburgh's two stars will be back, Philly has made changes, Rangers have improved the Devils have stayed the same. It will be a tough division. I think the Devils as this point will be 3rd. I don't even know who the coach is yet that will make a difference.

But if I had to give an answer for fun I'll say last just too stay away from bad JUJU...Devils always seems to perform when everybody is putting them way down in the standings so yea...last in the league !!!!!

You may be right, but why are you so confident?

It seems as though the Flyers may be a hit or miss team this year. Although they signed a #1 goalie it forced them to trade away some of the best centers in the division. Was it even worth it? Washington got Vokoun at a amazing 1.5M and its not like Bryzgalov is that much of a better goalie. They have added Talbot, Lilja, Schenn, Jagr, etc. as the expense of the departure of Leino, Carcillo, Versteeg, Carter, Richards, etc.
The Rangers added Richards at a decent price but I'm far from convinced on that their a cup contender. Not to sure on the Isles in regards to their additions and departures. The Penguins are a bit more in interesting. They've lost Rupp, Talbot, etc. but have added Sullivan for Crosby/Malkin. Sidney's health is still a bit of a question mark but they are still superior on defense and in the goal.
As for the Devils we've upped Greene and Moose to add safety and depth. But have we made any major improvements....?
I'd say...
5.Islanders
4.Rangers
3.Flyers
2. Devils
1. Penguins
