Give the captaincy to Zubrus...guy goes out there and just puts heart into every play. Maybe not the kind of guy that would be the loudest in a room, but he lead by example.

I remember he was the only guy really playing with that flame in the first half of last season and in the playoffs against the Flyers when the rest of the team seemed to have give up already.

or give it to Brodeur !!!!!!!

I wouldn't be surprised if this is another season with three As getting rotation. Elias will act like the captain on the ice, guys like Parise and White will do their part. Then, in the spring, they'll let Marty take the Cup from Bettman.

I bet it's either Zach or Patrik. I really wouldn't mind DeBoer naming Elias captain for the remainder of his career and then passing it to Parise when Patty hangs 'em up and we're sure Parise is still around, not quitting the Devils captain role for the Rangers money (how bad would it look if we gave it to him and he would don the blue next year? The thought itself is nauseating).

I don't think the Rangers will have enough cap space to sign Parise. They just signed Richards to a huge deal. I've looked at CapGeek and I think the only way the Rags will have good enough space is if they make some real changes, like dealing Dubinsky and Callahan.

I doubt any of us know who the true leaders of the team are in the locker room. I don't care if the C is on Rolston as long as the team plays hard and wins.

I dunno, I'm inclined to think that a new coach would want another figurehead for the team to look to for leadership. Even though it's just a letter on the chest, it's still something.

I think it's time for Parise to get it, I really do.

Elias with only two years to go don't think he would take it or even accept the captaincy now. Knowing Patty he would say give it to one of the other players that will be here for a longtime. Zach Parise I think will get the captaincy if not then Kovalchuk. Both players will be around (still believe Parise will get that longterm contract extension)for a longtime and finish their careers here. Elias would be a good captain once again but his career is coming to an end in 2-years.

This is madness. Zach has to be our next captain, and hopefully announced on his re-signing as well.

Look at that...it just looks right.

Elias is a perfect example of what a Devil should be, he has overcome adversity fro sickness to being one of the only Europeans on the team, he comes in clutch and doesn't moan or complain like some other players.

He led the team in points last year and refused to give up, he will also be a great role model for our younger players looking to make the jump to the NHL, not to mention he is the only player on our team to win the cup (twice) besides Brodeur. Experience in the playoffs is much more important to a championship team than people realize and is under rated in my opinion.

The Captaincy belongs to Elias until he is no longer playing for us.

Agreed. I also don't hate the idea of Brodeur having it temporarily. I kinda feel some leadership in him when he talks !!!

I think Luongo gave up the C because he said he felt he couldn't be as vocal on the bench during the game since he was in net. So then they went and gave it to Sedin, eventually it would have been him anyway, it just made it happen sooner. Not a direct quote but I thought he did say something along those lines.

Should be Parise as captain with Kovy and Elias with having an "A". I wouldn't complain if it was Patty with the "C", and Zach and Kovy with the "A" though.....

Vancouver didn't have a true captain for its official role in disputes... one of the A's would speak with the refs about plays, etc.
Luongo was their lockeroom and team captain... but couldn't do much in game.

You never want to give the "C" to a player who probably won't be here next year, so give Zach an "A".
