Stefan Liv as well former HV71 goalie.

He was one of my favourites at HV (nearly purchased his jersey).

When you have burns on over half of your body, the outcome is pretty grim.

Undoubtedly. Frankly, if 80% of my body burned up, Id rather be gone.

Absolutely. I was just thinking I hope the majority of the team didnt feel anything besides panic right before the plane went down.

I hope we do something for Vasyunov as the rest of the team opening night.

ABC has posted the news on their website along with photos. There is one photo that is of a victim.

Conflicting reports continue: Galimov is still alive, but unlikely to survive even after his emergency surgeries.

Feeling lost this morning. Sick to my stomach to hear about #Lokomotiv. Alex Vasyunov was a good friend and person. Just so sad to hear...

I like this idea:

"Legendary coach Viktor Tikhonov suggests every KHL team send at least one player to Lokomotiv to salvage the team's season."

Why was Vas playing in Russia again? Was he not offered a contract by us?

I think he declined one or didn't want to consider and had already had his heart set on Russia by the end of last season.

Just read about the KHL plane crash...what a tragic event. RIP to everyone that died - saying 43 people died including former NJ Devils Alexander Vasyunov and Karel Rachunek. I can't help but think about all the families that are going to be affected by this. What a horrible day. Unbelievable.

Is there any way we can just start the season early. I think I can speak for hockey fans everywhere that this off season has sucked and needs to end now.

Just horrible, so many familiar faces on that plane. Igor Korolev, Alexander Karpovtsev, Vasicek, Demitra, McCrimmon, Vasyunov, Salei, Skrastins

I can't even think right now. So many gone at once :-(

^7^ is just defending his sport sheeps.. as Alcibiades the exiled Athenian rationalizes in his speech to the enemy Spartans, he wants to take revenge on Athens because he loves it and can't stand to see the state it's in now - Triumph

Where are you reading that Korolev and Karpovtsev were on the plane? I do not see that referenced anyplace.
