Just saw this on TG, maybe I'm being a little too sentimental but I would have liked maybe a year or two gap without seeing someone wear #5.

I wouldnt want #13 either. Its such an ugly number.

The new guy is world's better than the one who left. You will forget after a couple of games.

That may be the number that isnt used for this season, for Vasyunov's memory.

I'd maybe say wait a little while had the previous #5 retired, but he is still playing so I say fair game. That would be pretty classy about the Vasyunov number not being used though if thats the case.

5 was Larsson's number on the Swedish national team, so it makes sense to give it to him.

Zharkov had 18 and got sent down. He's probably the first guy called up if anyone goes down, so they probably just left it free.
