Rumor per @Todd Cordell on Twitter:

Just saw a rumor suggesting the #NJDevils move Josefson, and a 1st for Turris? Please. I'd take Josefson over Turris at this point

Would you take this? Are there any other probable trades you wouldnt mind seeing happen? Now that Steckel is gone I'm pretty satisfied with the team..

Meh, this is an article from one of the hockeybuzz bloggers. I don't think it's to be considered credible.

That rumor was a while ago (21 hours), and it was a suggestion...i don't think it holds any weight. If it was something then we would have heard other sources.

Turris is 22 put up 25 points in 65 games last season for Phoenix. 1st round 3rd overall in 2007. 4 games in the playoffs last year and had a goal and 2 assists.

Its interesting/intriguing but I dont see it happening.

Also Turris is having or had a spat with management about a new contract coming into this season. Basically he wants a ton of money but his stat #'s do not equal the large amount he wants.

I'd rather keep Josefson honestly.

He's holding out right now and supposedly asking for WAY more than he's proven he's worth yet. I can't really see the Devils going for that.

edit... DevsMan84 beat me to it

Yeah absolutely not. Holding out for a huge contract when he hasn't done jack squat in the NHL yet..doesn't sound like Lou's kinda player.

I'll keep josefson and watch him develop

Josefson was a steal for the Devils, this would be like giving him away! Throw in the first round pick as well and i think we would be getting completley screwed. I cant see any value in this deal for us at all.

That article suggested it would cost more than just Josefson, like a 1st round pick. Plus, he's in a contract holdout. That seems far too much to get into for a player who might not be much better than Josefson, if at all.

And would be higher priced than Josefson, and is closer to UFA - it's typical HF/hockeybuzz drivel. I think NJ could have interest in Turris, and would perhaps deal Tedenby for him, but Josefson, no way.

Credibility aside, this isn't even something I want to entertain. Josefson has shown great potential. I've been very excited about him since he was drafted.

Turris simply isn't a very good NHL player. He may develop into one someday, but at this point he's worth as much as, if not less than, Josefson and Tedenby.

switch it to us getting the 1st rd pick and id take it...but i would not do it strait up let alone give up a 1st and jj

3rd overall snds good but that draft class was weak

rumor was probably started by management to scare him into signing or something :noclue:

"The $297,297 Kovalchuk missed today is money he will never, ever get back. And the more cheques he misses, the better the deal is going to have to be for the players to justify him sitting out. And unlike the owners, the players can direct their leadership to get a deal done regardless of how disadvantageous it is to them."
