parise-zajac-zubrus
kovalchuk-elias-palmieri
tedenby-josefson-henrique
mills-carter-clarkson
now, it could get shuffled around for sure, but that's a lot of depth right there. in a deboer forechecking system, the speed and skill of these guys could really get something going.

risky - i'm bullish on him for sure. i like what i see a lot and if the devils are in it and healthy come playoffs, we could see something like:
parise-zajac-zubrus
kovalchuk-elias-palmieri
tedenby-josefson-henrique
mills-carter-clarkson

carter goes to Albany when Josefson and Zajac are back.

i think it was lemaire who said that when kids come up, it's not the first couple games you judge them by. they've got extra adrenaline, they're maxing out everything, etc. it's games 5-10 where you get a sense of what you might have.
this is so true and really counter intuitive...obviously this does not mean we've seen the best from henrique by any strech but i would be careful to make snap judgements and look for consistency

it'd be difficult to imagine carter stays in when zajac and josefson are back.. besides, are you sure you wanna break up clarkson and tedenby (who have gotten something going so far) to put henrique at the rw?risky - i'm bullish on him for sure. i like what i see a lot and if the devils are in it and healthy come playoffs, we could see something like:

its way too early to really make these kinds of calls. i mean, if you noticed, i didn't even have sykora starting. i just think this is a best case. in truth, clarkson would see more time than palmieri probably.
as for carter, he's not battling w/ JJ for time. He's battling w/ pelley and mills.

i'm just not sure that he's going to last and eventually, the younger guys with more speed will have to stay in the lineup.

i think i agree with him, he's probably gonna show something here and there making good passes and getting good shots but you need speed in this new NHL

i mean, for years, the devils really escaped the injury bug pretty good. then elias missed some significant time, then marty, last year parise. this year zajac. these are key guys the devils are without. when its a guy like josefson, or volchenkov, or even martin three years ago, you can survive those if they're limited to those guys. i was amazed they survived w/o marty. but we've seen when a key offensive cog like elias, parise or zajac misses significant time, it really puts this team's depth to the test.
