If hes going to go at the end of the season then we should get something in return for him rather then letting him just walk. We all know that we arent going to be the highest bidder for Zach, itll come down to whether or not the money will talk or if he really is happy here and pulls an Elias.

Atlanta, if they had been making the playoffs the year they traded Kovy, would probably have been better off losing Kovy to free agency than making the trade with the Devils. They have an ok prospect, an overpaid defenseman, and a guy who can't stick with any team he's on.

A playoff team is better off with the extra time and playoff time with their star player and then taking the full cap relief, if they don't re-sign him.

Since Tedenby was a scratch for the game Kings' scouts flew out for, should we assume he isn't on the block?

Unless he is on the block and they didn't want to have to pull him off the bench if he had been traded in the middle of the game and go down a man.

Yeah the talking heads on VS during the pregame almost unanimously proclaimed Parise was gone at the end of the season. It's like they love taunting Devils fans.

That said, they were praising the sh** out of our new, more aggressive system under DB

edit: i dont care what he says that to sign a player during the season is a distraction and all... im pretty sure its a bigger distraction for all the guys to know that Zach could be on his way out

It's a bit annoying that all these sites out there always bring up Bernier and the Devils just because Brodeur is in his final contract year. The Devils have solid goaltending prospects in the system. If Lou is to make a trade with LA, I can't see Bernier being a part of it at all.

I read this yesterday, and it may as well have read 'Kings, Devils may make trade, or may not do so.'

McGuire did mention that the Kings people were at last night's game, so at least that part of it is true. As for Kings I'd be interested in, I wouldn't mind Justin Williams, but I can't really see a fit in a deal here.

I'd want no part of Penner, actually Scuderi either. I would actually be for Williams, he plays a similar game and i believe is a RW which they could definitely use.
