X-rays revealed that Devils defenseman Andy Greene has a non-displaced toe fracture.
The team says he will miss four weeks.
Time to bring up some rookies and give them some quality paying time. Urbom, Corrente or Tao look like the top choices.

How easily we forget 2009-10.
Greene being hobbled for the last month has hurt the defense, glad they finally figured out what the problem is.

Please bring Tao up. Get him on the first PP too. This team desperately needs some offense from the back end.

Again, he's a serviceable depth D-man (who I guess get paid $3M these days at the going rate?) - but he's never been a significant cog in the NJ machine

As long as you keep pretending like he's:Okay, keep pretending like he wasn't #1 in minutes in 2009-10.
1.) The PMD that this team needs
2.) Not soft on the boards or in the corners
3.) In any way consistent
4.) Anything more than a fringe #3/#4 on a good defence
5.) Was an impact player for any more than a handful, blink-of-an eye game series of 4 games
6.) Anything more than a stopgap until LL finds a #1 or the kids mature
Not his fault, he got paid in a dry market for even his level of mediocre skills.
My argument is that AG is not a game-changer.

Greene is an average NHL D and whoever the Devils bring up will almost certainly not be - that hurts. Greene not being healthy for most of the season has hurt the defense as well.

I would have wanted Taormina on this team all year but Fayne is just better than him. I do not like Larsson and would rather Taormina be up in his place. Plus, Tao was an awesome character in Shining Force for sega.
