First of all, the reason for tomorrow's early ceremony is something I'm going to call the Messier rule. There is now a new rule that regulates these ceremony lengths and if a team goes over they get fined. This is due to, as Doc put it, "a certain never-ending tearful ceremony". He said to expect tomorrow's ceremony to move a little quicker than our first two. Doc will be involved in the pre-game show after the ceremony.
The topic of concussions came up and he believes a major reason they're on the rise is because of the elimination of the two line pass and all the clutching, grabbing, and hooking. Players are bigger and stronger than ever and now they're flying through the neutral zone and colliding with each other at higher speeds. I think it's ironic that they did this to increase scoring and the league's leading scorers are all concussed. He said don't expect the two line pass to come back though.
He's only gotten to see about 4-5 of our games and was supposed to call our game last month in Buffalo but had a hernia (for the third time) and had to tend to it. He will be calling our home game vs. Boston next month.
Oh, and apparently this is out now: http://www.amazon.co...0429705-6666430
