Devils fans unite!! We takin over baby!!! Go Devils!! Jersey pride!!
Theres me with my green vuvuzela!! They took it away from me walkin to my seat. They let us in with it but take it away in the concourse and I didn't even blow it yet. Didn't matter we were loud enough that we drowned out all the Icelanders fans. That was a blast. Just watched the replay on MSG you can hear us easily!! That was some of the most fun I ever had at a hockey game!!! Thank you Jamie for organizing it and I had a blast with everyone on the bus!!!Let's Go Devils!!!!

[Mark Messier]: A big, bald attention whore with a stupid Easter Island-lookin face. - from who else? DaneykoIsGod!
Even when Marty comes back maybe Larry should put Clemmensen to be on the goal during the shootouts.
Can the coach do that ? Switch the goalies 5 seconds to go in overtime? - Most priceless quote ever posted on a message board.
Martin Brodeur: THE MOST ALL-TIME WINS!, 12 straight seasons of 30+ wins, 3 Stanley Cups, 4 Vezina Trophies, and zero respect from too many so-called Devils "fans" who are either too young or too bandwagon to remember the much darker days of Sean Burke, Craig Billington, Bob Sauve, Alain Chevrier, and the talented but overwhelmed Chico Resch, among many others.
It's easy to support a great player when he's playing at his very best. It takes a true fan to support that same player during those rare moments and stretches when he's not. Babe Ruth went 0-4 some games, and sometimes Wayne Gretzky was held pointless. There may be such a thing as greatness, but no such thing as absolute perfection every single night.

Yeah I had my Devil mask on and this security whore came and told me masks aren't allowed in the arena.. I said its not listed on the website and her reply was "It's an unwritten rule. What if you punched someone and tried to run out? We wouldn't be able to identify you"
So I was a bit of a smart ass before walking away lol.. What a joke of an arena

I gotta admit, I do feel sorry for some old-time Islander fans...what they have seen their franchise become. They WERE the class of the NHL once upon a time.
I've only been to that arena to see a Grateful Dead show back in the early 90s, so suffice it to say my memories of that place are scant at best. Is it that bad?

It is. I have a couple of friends who are season ticket holders so I've gone to a game here or there. The CAA was a nicer, newer arena than Nassau. They really, really need a new building. It's got a nice old hockey feel and I appreciate that at an AHL game, but not in the bigs.

I've only been there once - the steps are uneven (like two little ones followed by one big one) so you have to look down when you're going up and down stairs or you'll trip on one, the concourse is cramped and there wasn't much of a variety in food selection. On the plus side, it wasn't as complicated driving in as I was led to believe and it was only ten dollars to park plus you got a few bucks back in food credit at the nearby hotel, so I wound up having a chicken fingers-fries there instead of eating anything at the arena. Basically it was around $15 for parking and dinner all told, not a terrible deal. I did have to walk like ten minutes from where I parked to the arena.
The New Jersey Devils win Stanley Cups everywhere:
-NHL record for most road wins in the playoffs - 10-1 in '95 and 10-2 in '00
-NHL record for most home wins in the playoffs - 12-1 in '03

Sorry I haven't responded until now - I've been home with the flu all week. Thank you to everyone that came out and made this trip a great success! I look forward to planning the next one and I'm open to suggestions. I've heard both Philly and Washington - I'd prefer Washington (not a fan of Philly at all)...but again, I'm open to suggestions.
Thanks again to all that came out!
hi jamie,
can we go to MSG? it's always fun to see the devils play the rangers.

Jaime did a MSG trip once.. Problem with it is that open tickets aren't in big enough clusters so we'd be all spread out.. Kinda defeats the strength in numbers.. I'd say The Caps or Bruins are our best bet.. I'd be up for Philly but I'm in the minority on that I think

FYI: You'll have to get the Washington tickets in the summer and expect to pay upwards of $75+ just for the ticket. If you did that trip I'd suggest making a whole-day event with time enough for sightseeing (ex. arrive at noon for a 7:00 p.m. start). There's no tailgating as Verizon is in the MSG mold of a downtown arena, but there's plenty of bars around the arena and quite a few have a GREAT beer selection.
You mean the Prudential Center mold
I think it would be fun to train to DC like the Flyers did on 24/7 but that would be tough to coordinate
