This game really took my hatred for the Flyers to a new level. It seems as if after EVERY whistle a Flyer was cheap-shotting one of our guys. Goes to show the difference between a first class organization and pure scumbags.
Cant say enough about Kovy - first one to Parise's defense and sh@t on the Flyers all day. Hope his hand is OK because he ROCKED Schenn.
Also BIG props to Salvador - did anyone notice him battling Simmonds in front of the net all game? Not many of our guys are up to that task, and it made the difference.

Kovy sealed the deal with me today. He is a Devil.
Waiting for MantaRay and Chorske17's thoughts regarding Kovy.

I think my toilet bowl is cleaner than the flyers
The pipe leading into your nearest waste treatment plant is cleaner than the Phailures.
Wow, THANK YOU, KOVY!

After I immediaty thought oh please do not break those hands, that is exactly what went through my mind. How could Zach not want to be on a team centered around him Kovys zajac henrique and larrson?

I cant wait till this team is all healthy, and the lower line players have to "work" their way in to the line up. We could really have a strong finish....and then who knows

Was everyone here really that worried? The Devils won in regulation, scored 6, and there were no injuries. Clearly the Devils should have kept running Zach, Kovy, Elias and the other tops guys out there for top minutes in the 3rd to keep it 6-0 to appease everyone. I mean, the Flyers would NEVER try to injure our guys or cheap shot them after the whistle.
At 6-4 with eight minutes to go and having only one shot all period you weren't worried then?! Clearly you have ice in your veins or didn't watch the third period.
This is one of those where you kick a hamper when it gets to 6-4 but now it's like who cares. The only thing out of this game that still annoys me is how a joke of a hockey player like Rinaldo's continually allowed (by the refs) to get away with cheap-shotting players. And hiding behind a teenager to let him fight and get his butt kicked by Kovy is as lame as anything Avery every pulled.
Yes most of the third period was due to not wanting to exert too much effort but when it got to 6-4 I would have liked to have seen them play a little better from that point on. That's the only part that actually annoyed me as far as the team play goes...Hedberg did bail us out a number of times from even getting it closer.
The New Jersey Devils win Stanley Cups everywhere:
-NHL record for most road wins in the playoffs - 10-1 in '95 and 10-2 in '00
-NHL record for most home wins in the playoffs - 12-1 in '03

Two players are now averaging a point-per-game or better (Kovy and Elias). In Devil-land, this is a big deal.
In some ways this team reminds me a little of the '87-'88 team. That team had some talent on it, as this one does, but just like that '87-'88 team, this one has to fight for everything it gets.
And FINALLY Hedberg gets a friggin' start. Hope he gets some more here and there.
[Mark Messier]: A big, bald attention whore with a stupid Easter Island-lookin face. - from who else? DaneykoIsGod!
Even when Marty comes back maybe Larry should put Clemmensen to be on the goal during the shootouts.
Can the coach do that ? Switch the goalies 5 seconds to go in overtime? - Most priceless quote ever posted on a message board.
Martin Brodeur: THE MOST ALL-TIME WINS!, 12 straight seasons of 30+ wins, 3 Stanley Cups, 4 Vezina Trophies, and zero respect from too many so-called Devils "fans" who are either too young or too bandwagon to remember the much darker days of Sean Burke, Craig Billington, Bob Sauve, Alain Chevrier, and the talented but overwhelmed Chico Resch, among many others.
It's easy to support a great player when he's playing at his very best. It takes a true fan to support that same player during those rare moments and stretches when he's not. Babe Ruth went 0-4 some games, and sometimes Wayne Gretzky was held pointless. There may be such a thing as greatness, but no such thing as absolute perfection every single night.

Insane 3rd period. Outshot 24-1?! But it's 2 points...2 beautiful, all-important points. And somehow this team is finding ways to accumulate them.

Yes aka Rangers, Tuesday.
