Heffffty price.

When will this team decide to go younger? Do we really need another 30+ Euro player? Annd another soft defenceman?

Right, that money will quickly be offset by whomever the Devils call up to replace Palmieri.

Also huge lols @ Palmieri having $329,000 left on his salary, apparently Neverson can't do math

What's that supposed to mean?

Yeah I didn't think he was even making 3/4 of Foster's salary since Foster was at 1.8 and Palmeri's NHL deal was 950k iirc. We have a secret budget but yet keep adding players. I love Lou

Hard to go much younger than a 19 year old defenseman.

Do we really need another 30+ Euro player?

Hey, the good news with a 30+ European guy is that he might actually be tired of playing in the World Championship - he might want to try the NHL playoffs out.

Annd another soft defenceman?

I love the word soft, it's probably my favorite hockey designation. Totally meaningless and a lot of really good players are 'soft'. Some idiot journalist called Ponikarovsky soft and thought the Devils made a bad deal.

Loved the guy 5 years ago... Can't vouch for him now, but Im glad foster and palmeri are gone. I am upset with the 2nd, unless Washington somehow turns it around. I hope he works out here. 4 mil for another year.. please god let minnesota get the conditional 3rd.

I go with the scouts, we though my little ponI was a bad pick, and they came through, should be a great addition to players

No one thought Ponikarvosky was a bad trade. Joe who + a 4th?

Still don't understand how some people insist that Fayne is a terrible defender

Well, I didn't say terrible. I just said the weakest link. Salvador, Volchenkov, Greene, and Taormina have been more solid than him.

Fayne could be our best defenseman.

Some poo and a 2nd rd pick isn't hefty.

And as for younger... Larsson, Taormina, Henrique, Fayne, Tedenby, Josefson, Urbom, Palmieri, and Zharkov all had some time with the Devils this year. Some are contributing, and some have proven they aren't quite ready yet. Icing a rookie team that isn't ready doesn't help the team or the player.

Zid arrived late to practice but he did skate with the team today. He was wearing #2. Harrold was sent down to Albany.

I don't think Fayne has been the worst defenseman by any means, but that being said, i think Salvador has proven to be our top guy, he's had a really good comeback and has been super reliable in all situations. I'd put Fayne maybe right behind him, possibly behind Greene since he's come back. I have no issues with Fayne

to be honest i prefer Volchenkov because that guy will always leave everything he has on the ice. there really isn't one D man that stands out far above the others though

Absolutely. I have alot of faith in our defense right now. Itll be interesting to see what Zid brings to the table. Who do you think he will be paired with?

My thoughts are:

Salvador - Zid
Fayne - Greene
Volchenkov - Taormina/Larsson

This is also assuming that Tallinder is down for the count?

With Tallinder out I do think Fayne is our best Dman. That's pretty remarkable.

Lemaire and Barr talk highly about him and he wants to be here, so I am not against him being on our team
