this game is so out of character for the Devils. The rangers don't even need Avery to get under their skin it seems.
I think it starts with their struggles against Henrik and goes from there. They get frustrated...understandable.
They certainly took a page out of the Avery book, keep baiting Clarkson and eventually he'll snap. The refs suck but no excuse for THAT...he should be gone for at least a couple games, that was an obvious an elbow to the head as it gets.
Agreed, Clarkson has come too far for this nonsense.
[Mark Messier]: A big, bald attention whore with a stupid Easter Island-lookin face. - from who else? DaneykoIsGod!
Even when Marty comes back maybe Larry should put Clemmensen to be on the goal during the shootouts.
Can the coach do that ? Switch the goalies 5 seconds to go in overtime? - Most priceless quote ever posted on a message board.
Martin Brodeur: THE MOST ALL-TIME WINS!, 12 straight seasons of 30+ wins, 3 Stanley Cups, 4 Vezina Trophies, and zero respect from too many so-called Devils "fans" who are either too young or too bandwagon to remember the much darker days of Sean Burke, Craig Billington, Bob Sauve, Alain Chevrier, and the talented but overwhelmed Chico Resch, among many others.
It's easy to support a great player when he's playing at his very best. It takes a true fan to support that same player during those rare moments and stretches when he's not. Babe Ruth went 0-4 some games, and sometimes Wayne Gretzky was held pointless. There may be such a thing as greatness, but no such thing as absolute perfection every single night.

This game sucks. If the Devils get shut out we'll never hear the end of it. Devils picked a bad time to start playing as if it were before the all-star break.
Ya. And wtf is Clarkson doing. Come on man. You're a part of our offense now.
He's totally losing his cool. Extremely disappointed in him.

I honestly don't see an elbow to the head in the replays. Looks like he hit upper back between the shoulder blades. But yes, he did jump. He's obviously frustrated at the officiating, the cheap sh!t the Rags keep getting away with, Prust's "Avery Impersonation", you know...all the same sh!t all of us here are pissed off about.

I'm just saying..that's not the type of goal you can give up in this kind of game.

Not over yet. But it does feel like it's going to take a favorable or lucky bounce for something to go in tonight.
