He clearly tripped him, the issue is whether or not he was on a clear breakaway and whether or not Zidlicky got the puck first.Kunitz would to draw the penalty if he didn't have control the way he wanted. Either way, it was not a warranted penalty shot, the ref totally screwed that up. Zid did nothing to inhibit Kunitz. And the refs might not officially "care" but I'm sure there's marketing pressure from the league to look out for #1 (being a marquee player like Crosby, they're making such a big deal lately about his return, wouldn't it suck if he got another injury...)
Could never get me to believe there isn't some degree of bias in this league. It's all about the marketing teams/players and the money they bring in.
anyway, the call was complete crap, and hopefully we can move on and overcome it
The refs do not work for the NHLs marketing department, nor are they under pressure by them to call games a certain way, these are professionals, they're not going to make bad calls on purpose. We've been hearing this conspiracy crap since Crosby's rookie season, it's a load of garbage.

And the ambiguity of "distinct kicking motion" strikes again, another goal that could have gone either way.
Could have gone either way if it wasn't a Pens player scoring the goal assisted by Crosby. Then there's only one way it can go.

That was not a kicking motion at all, sorry. This team is just self destructing right now. If I see one more pass with an open shot I'm slamming my phone to the ground.
The New Jersey Devils win Stanley Cups everywhere:
-NHL record for most road wins in the playoffs - 10-1 in '95 and 10-2 in '00
-NHL record for most home wins in the playoffs - 12-1 in '03
