This is a little bit of a longshot, but I'm going to Houston in a couple of weeks and was wondering if anyone's been there and has some barbecue spots to recommend.

I went to Goode Company BBQ back in 2005 and it was pretty good. It is on the corner of Kirby Drive (one of the bigger streets in the city) and Bartlett St.
They also have a place next door too under a different name but same owners that I did not go to.
I would also recommend going to Freebirds on Greenbriar Street. They are the small Texas chain that inspired Chipotle, but their burritos are bigger, fresher, and taste a lot better. When I was there I remember their largest burrito being about 2 feet long.

Lulling City BBQ in Houston. My bros in law have taken me there a couple of times. Not fancy just good meat- brisket, hot links.
