Just came back from The Rock. I was in Section 215, Row 4, aisle seats facing 214. Not sure if you saw it, but right after the Flyers first goal, a kid turned around at me and screamed at me and my girlfriend within a few inches of my face. I stood up and screamed right back, told him to sit the fvck down, "this isn't Philly", it went on for about 20 seconds. It was a tiny shove away from turning into a brawl. I've never been face-to-face with someone over a hockey game like that but he screamed at me. Curious if you saw the altercation, hope you think I handled it well, didn't raise a hand, just sat him the fvck down just like his estranged drunk parents screamed at him before he ended up on the streets for the rest of his life.
The 214 crowd was unbearable and ABSOLUTE SHAME on the Prudential Center staff for not stepping in. They watched for about 2 minutes, during which things could have gotten out of control but somehow didn't. They even saw the guy with the Flyers tattoo taunting someone by walking down to HIS OWN ROW. They were watching and waiting and watching and waiting. Then, the security and staff that were right below the ENTIRE TIME come up 5 minutes later acting like they didn't see anything and didn't know what to do, like they were SCARED. Ten huge security guards follow, and do NOTHING. They should have taken AT LEAST 4 people out of the game, it's unbelievable how incompetent and unprepared they were for this series. Within the span that people started screaming for security to come and they finally came, some really really bad things could have happened, either to a Devils fan or more likely a Flyers fan because of how outnumbered they were (thank god).
Yes I did see that,we sitting right behind the flyer fans at the top of 214 directly next to the fist fighting.. I shrugged off most comments but at one point they were complaining that the devils were playing the trap all last game. That caused me to stand up and get in a screaming match b.c they are basically playing the direct opposite of the trap. They were all over me after that and I got some aids comments my girl got some breast cancer comments ..

Ah you know that's what I don't like to hear about. I have no problem with them being in our stadium but when they are provoking us and just acting like complete trash is where I draw the line. Act respectful and be a human being, even cheer for your team if you want, i really could care less.
Maybe that kid deserved it, maybe not. It shouldn't have to get to that point. Regardless, I know it's the playoffs and tensions are high, alcohol doesn't help either.
From the Acela Club I was watching various groups of Flyers fans. Whenever there was a situation where a security guard had to come down they looked like complete idiots that had no idea what was going on. You would think for a game like this they would at least be a little more attentive...
i only saw the aftermath so i have no idea who did what. this kid shouldn't have had any booze since there is no way he was 21.

There's that old saying "What goes around, comes around" Anyone who jokes about that kind of stuff will most likely have karma come back and bite them in the ass. I understand people are going to get into heckling matches but I'm just surprised that anyone would make comments like that when almost everyone knows someone in their friends or family that has had cancer.

Agreed, but unfortunately not being 21 doesn't stop some/most kids. And judging by the "upstanding citizens" I saw wearing Flyers jerseys I wouldn't put it past them lol...

I seriously wanted to bitchslap each one. Not only are their fans ignorant about most facets of the game, they act like complete neanderthals win or lose. They just live to fight other people or at least get in a trash talking match. I think at least for the "men" in their fanbase, the need to constantly fight like that and spark confrontation is to put a front up to compensate for something else they don't want you to know...
A win in this series would be EPIC. Wipe that smile off Briere's face, stop the commentary on how great he is, make Jagr's "comeback" a complete failure, and further instill that WE are the best team in the area. I'm SICK of hearing all about how the Flyers are such a great team, and how they should be respected. It's about time WE get respect
lol if they start with that bullcrap of AIDS and Breast Cancer, just tell him the doctor called and he needs to get his junk removed, doc found testicular cancer
or some crack about and STD or something...if they can dish it out, they should be able to take it in return

We sat next to a group of 3 Flyers fans. Everyone was respectful and exceedingly nice. We had no problems in our section, except for 1 drunk Devils fan yelling at other Devils fans in the section for not having heart or being a real fan because they refused to stand for the entire game like him. While I appreciated the passion the guy had, I didn't appreciate the F bombs being used every other word out of his mouth.
Now, on the way out and walking to the car, we went by a group of 4 drunk Flyers fans. One guy comes up to my son and screams "I f'd your mother." At which point, I pushed him into a tree and his friends pulled him away (He was so drunk, he could barely stand). Amazingly, 2 of the guys in his group came running up to us a block down the road after we walked away and apologized. Some people just take these games too seriously/personally.

For those that were there and either saw or were unfortunately involved in an incident...file a complaint with the Pru center and the Devils. The more complaints they get regarding the lack of security, the better.
^^^This
And for anyone on Twitter, send your complaints to @PruCenter @NHLDevils @NHLDevilsPR. I just did, and it seems like Twitter is the only place they actually read or listen to regarding complaints these days.

What did you expect from these troglodytes? There's a freaking giant billboard on I-95 North coming into Philly that says "If we can't beat them, we beat them up."
They try so hard to take on that persona, it's ridiculous. Fact of the matter is, most of them are a bunch of pu$$ie$.

One drunk kid in the bathroom, but he was more or less harmless.

I collect spores, molds and fungus.
Hello fellow American. This you should vote me. I leave power. Good. Thank you, thank you. If you vote me, I'm hot. What? Taxes, they'll be lower... son. The Democratic vote is the right thing to do Philadelphia, so do.
How do you spot risk? How do you avoid risk? And what makes it so risky?

Does anyone know who owns the security guards at the rock? Is it outsourced or they state employees?
They are not state employees but they are employeed by a private security company contracted by the Prudential Center.
I know this only because I submitted a complaint about them last year. Never heard anything back.

I didn't see a lot of Flyers fans during play, other than the four in front of me and a bunch in my row, but fortunately they were quiet and not the douchey contingent. I was amused by that clown in a Flyer jersey near the Fire Lounge waving his towel along with the Devil fans when the scoreboard was prompting it lmao.
The New Jersey Devils win Stanley Cups everywhere:
-NHL record for most road wins in the playoffs - 10-1 in '95 and 10-2 in '00
-NHL record for most home wins in the playoffs - 12-1 in '03

The Rock security text number is (507)724-8378. Program that into your phones and use it when necessary. I usually use my old standby with these mutants, "I hope Pelle Lindbergh drives you home"
Very low but pretty funny.

One of my friends was taken away by security in Game 6 against Florida without any prior warning because of profane language. I don't understand how they could be that strict then and so lax last night.
Simple, they were scared and unprepared. They sent the most clean-cut friendly looking guy to go handle the ruckus up in section 214. There was no way he was going to get ANYTHING settled there.
