It was worse than Game 1, really. Game 1, they barely challenged Lundqvist and couldn't get a shot through. Tonight, they put everything they possibly could on net, and the great shot-blockers weren't much of a factor at all...and they STILL couldn't get a goal. We dominate 55 minutes, can't score, they dominate five minutes at the start of the third and get three goals. God, I can't stand this team. They really are going to luck their way to a Stanley Cup

What luck? Their goalie was great (not necessarily unstoppable though). Last time I checked, the goalie is a member of the team as well, and, what do you know, some are really good and influence the outcome.

Of course, whether fans on a message board call a loss bad luck doesn't really matter. However, it helps to not call a loss something that it isn't.

I've been the one saying all year that the Rangers deserve credit, but after today I'm done with giving them credit. They played in their own zone for 80% of the game, let Lundqvist do all the work, and then get one break and win a game. Same **** in Game 1, we dominate 40 minutes but can't get it through the great wall of shot-blockers, they get one break and win a game. Florida played better against us than this team, but Florida had Clemmensen/Theodore and they have the padded wonder who's owned us for five years.

What really ****es me off is the Rock's never been better in terms of Devil fans to Ranger fans than it was today. Some games it's close to 50-50, today it was more like 90-10. And yet the ten percent sounded like fifty late in the third period. They're not going to have that much of a home-ice advantage the rset of the series unless they somehow win the next two games.

Thats all they had to do. They also beat Marty twice in the 3rd. We've had plenty of games in our past where Marty has won the game for us on his own.

I'm with you for the most part though. We've outplayed this team for prob 10/12 periods thus far and are regularly controlling the play and winning battles. I dont agree with the sky is falling, "luck their way to a Stanley Cup" attitude though. We're down 2-1 with the next game at home. Its far from over and we've seen this team bounce back big throughout the entire playoff season.

I'd really like to see Elias get something going though. His lack of touch this series has been annoying.

I was fine if the Rangers speed was going to beat us, if they would play us even and win on some Brodeur softies or something. Losing this way is horrible.

Yup it was definitely 20% or under, which is way less then normal for the playoffs. The crowd was just waiting to explode and celebrate a goal and it just never came.

Game 4 is now a must win and that's the most frustrating part for me.

Thing is, so far we've dominated them far more than the Caps or Sens ever did, the only game I can really recall them getting dominated and having no business winning in the prior two series was Game 3 in Ottawa, but Ottawa returned the favor in Game 5. The Caps decided to play mirror, mirror on the wall and leave the series up to a virtual coinflip and home-ice. We've dominated the majority of the series and have two shutouts to show for it and a skin of our teeth win.

Luckily I work nights and slept through it. If that was the first game you kinda laugh it off, but goddamn it if they limp to the line here and end up getting destroyed by LA.

It's been along time ago before 2005 when he won a game for us in the playoffs. He is showing flashes but he has a .917 Save % with a 2.0 GAA in this series to-date. He hasn't been that great throughout the three rounds. He hasn't won a game yet but the offense hasn't scored in this round. Since 2005 he has been .906 in playoffs games and in this series he is heading to that number. Can't advance with a .906. Retire Marty while surprising some.

Some people have been saying this for months vis-a-vis the Rangers. Yes, the Kings have a better team strange to say - given they're an #8 seed and the Rangers are a #1 seed, but the Kings are a good team masquerading as a Cinderella and the Rangers are a Cinderella masquerading as a good team. Doesn't mean the Kings are going to win though, especially since LA hasn't faced any real adversity in the playoffs and the Rangers have.

I have said Devils in 6. If the Devils win the next game, they will take this series. Need to get that aggressive forecheck going and getting back to playing each game consistently like they did against the Flyers. Its seems like this layover did take them off their game. Hope they can get back to playing with the same emotion that brought them success.

Yeah I agree.. We have shown we are the better team, so there is no reason to assume we will lose this series.. Our mantra has been "Stick to the game plan" and it's shown it can beat them.. Just have to get the puck in the damn net

If Kovy had lifted the puck on the breakaway and gotten it in we would have won this game. For some reason the Devils came out a little slow in the 3rd which ended up costing them. Expect to see the Devils at their absolute best on Monday facing the adversity and with the home crowd urging them on. Everyone stay positive and Let's Go Devils!
