Btw, I think outcome of the year/series might set Marty's record in stone. Will he be known as the greatest regular season goalie ever but only a good post season performer (and something of a choker).... Or will he go down as arguably the greatest goalie, or one of the top couple, with the usual array of post season successes and failures. I think I will start a thread on this.... I am sure it won't be a heated, controversial subject about which everyone has their own opinion.

This one isn't over yet...but I'd be lying if I said that every shot that's coming Marty's way isn't making me nervous as hell.
It's not even the shots, he's been awful playing the puck in this series. I swear, that stupid trapezoid's gotten in his head more in these playoffs than it has in the last seven years.
And yeah I don't want to hear it about the refs or Toronto either, we've been dominated for 50 minutes and the score doesn't even reflect that.
The New Jersey Devils win Stanley Cups everywhere:
-NHL record for most road wins in the playoffs - 10-1 in '95 and 10-2 in '00
-NHL record for most home wins in the playoffs - 12-1 in '03

Me like when Rangers shoot at their own net. As long as they keep doing that they can take shots all night.....

A guy who won three Cups is only a good post season performer and something of a choker? That seems to be a bit much.
[Mark Messier]: A big, bald attention whore with a stupid Easter Island-lookin face. - from who else? DaneykoIsGod!
Even when Marty comes back maybe Larry should put Clemmensen to be on the goal during the shootouts.
Can the coach do that ? Switch the goalies 5 seconds to go in overtime? - Most priceless quote ever posted on a message board.
Martin Brodeur: THE MOST ALL-TIME WINS!, 12 straight seasons of 30+ wins, 3 Stanley Cups, 4 Vezina Trophies, and zero respect from too many so-called Devils "fans" who are either too young or too bandwagon to remember the much darker days of Sean Burke, Craig Billington, Bob Sauve, Alain Chevrier, and the talented but overwhelmed Chico Resch, among many others.
It's easy to support a great player when he's playing at his very best. It takes a true fan to support that same player during those rare moments and stretches when he's not. Babe Ruth went 0-4 some games, and sometimes Wayne Gretzky was held pointless. There may be such a thing as greatness, but no such thing as absolute perfection every single night.

How many good chances have the Devils had in the last 50 minutes, two maybe? Not counting the goal that got waved off cause of the high stick.
richards shot on his own goal was probably the best chance for devils in 50 minutes

The old Marty would have held this lead, Stevens or no Stevens. Unfortunately he's just an old Marty now and scared of the big, bad trapezoid biting him.
