I know not to take things seriously from Rangers fans who call on the radio but these comments are getting worse.
1) "Martin Brodeur is not that great of a goalie because he didnt win the Conn Smythe in 2003"
2) "The Prudential Center and the Devils organization is ridiculous because they have cheerleaders. Seriously who has cheerleaders in the NHL"
3) "Devils fans are a bunch of frauds. They only come out during the playoffs and they dont sell out like the Rangers"
4) "The 1995 Stanley Cup championship shouldn't count because it was a shortened season"
I heard all of these in a span of a week. To the credit of WFAN, Mike Francesa, Joe Benigno, and Evan Roberts defended the Devils in most of these points. On a side note, Mike Fransesca said that he doubt the cheerleaders were Lou's idea
Flyer fans might be the most violent, but the Ranger fans by and large are the dumbest. I'm sure there were worse comments than that made. And StarDew is 100% right, those dummies would never have said a word about shortened seasons if they had repeated as SC Champs.
And no franchise is more ridiculous than the Rangers. I can't think of one single NHL franchise that has celebrated one Cup win over and over again as shamelessly as the Rangers have (and their fans buy right into it every time...after awhile you'd think some of them would say "Geez, can we move past this already?"). The only team that was even in the vicinity of that level of cheesiness was Carolina, when they raised their Cup banner twice.

THE NHL MUST LOVE THE DEVILS - from who else? A RANGER fan!
[Mark Messier]: A big, bald attention whore with a stupid Easter Island-lookin face. - from who else? DaneykoIsGod!
Even when Marty comes back maybe Larry should put Clemmensen to be on the goal during the shootouts.
Can the coach do that ? Switch the goalies 5 seconds to go in overtime? - Most priceless quote ever posted on a message board.
Martin Brodeur: THE MOST ALL-TIME WINS!, 12 straight seasons of 30+ wins, 3 Stanley Cups, 4 Vezina Trophies, and zero respect from too many so-called Devils "fans" who are either too young or too bandwagon to remember the much darker days of Sean Burke, Craig Billington, Bob Sauve, Alain Chevrier, and the talented but overwhelmed Chico Resch, among many others.
It's easy to support a great player when he's playing at his very best. It takes a true fan to support that same player during those rare moments and stretches when he's not. Babe Ruth went 0-4 some games, and sometimes Wayne Gretzky was held pointless. There may be such a thing as greatness, but no such thing as absolute perfection every single night.
