Dear Devils Army,

Soon the puck will drop for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals between the LA Kings and your NJ Devils. I am insanely confident in our team. Not because we're 2-0 against them in the regular season. Not because we have the most winningest goalie in history. Not because the last 3 teams to elimnate The Flyers went on to win the cup. Not because this is the 3rd time we've eliminated the Flyers and the first two times we won the cup. Not because this is the 3rd time we've faced a 12-2 team for the cup in the finals and won the first two times. And certainly not "Because It's the Cup".

But because...they're The Devils.

Exactly. I'm kind of puzzled here. I thought maybe it's the stream I'm watching, but the crowd seems really quiet. Sure, there's a Let's Go Devils chant every now and then, but in between, you have like a minute of silence. Hate to say it, but this has been the msot quiet Stanley Cup Final game I have seen so far and it's not because the Kings goal - it was like that from the beginning.

It is quiet but maybe it has to do with the opponent not being the rags or flyers.

Can't allow goals like that when you're going up against Quick. No way Marty should have let that one in.

Not a great goal by Marty, that puck was shanked and low... gotta get that one. Clarkie's squeezing the stick a bit, though the second one got deflected. We're getting chances, we'll beat quick. Kings are hot, but they didn't impress me in the first offensively. Overall, I'm encouraged by the first period. Not the score, but the play... I think the Devils were the better team.
