Josefson has been fantastic since getting in the line-up. There is no way he is sitting.

Josefson is too timid when it comes to shooting the puck. His O is not near where it needs to be.

sit Ponikarovsky, Harrold, Zidlicky and dress Sykora, Tallinder, and Larsson. At this point...I just don't know.

Carter-Gionta-Bernier
Parise-Henrique-Zubrus
Kovalchuk-Elias-Josefson
Sykora-Zajac-Clarkson

Greene-Fayne
Salvador-Larsson
Volchenkov-Tallinder

Tom Gulitti ‏@TGfireandice
Jacob Josefson wearing green jersey as an extra forward today along with Boulton and Janssen. Means Sykora will be on one of top 3 lines.

And

Tom Gulitti ‏@TGfireandice
Adam Larsson first one on ice today for Devils, followed by Janssen and Boulton.

(I think that's usually an indication that he won't be playing)

Signs pointing to Sykora getting in for Josefson. Not a big fan, but at this point...

"The Stanley Cup has fallen from the Stars. The new millennium has its first Stanley Cup Champion, and it's the New Jersey Devils." Mike Miller calling the Devils winning the Stanley Cup.

"It goes to the captain and then there are handoffs during a skate around the ice" Mike Emrick as Scott Stevens is being presented the Stanley Cup.

Yea, he's been first on the ice almost every practice. I'd guess that as of now, Larsson will not be in.

I'm perfectly fine with Sykora going in for Josefson.

Sykora shouldn't be going in for someone with legs, when there's so few guys with them. Zubrus/Clarkson/Poni are an utter slog right now.

NO WAY PDB sits Poni. He's one of the only big bodies we got to match up with them.

Josefson has been better than Sykora, but who knows, maybe Sykora can finally get a clean shot to go in on Quick.

Sykoras shot should've been in for the too scared to shoot josefson a long time ago.

Tom Gulitti ‏@TGfireandice
Defense pairs are the same with Tallinder and Larssen(sic) as the extras.

They only practiced for 20 minutes, that seems wrong.

Josefson got his experience in, which is a good thing. I agree that he needs to learn when to shoot but he has looked great otherwise. I like the move because Sykora may actually score a goal. There still need to be more shots.

Now if only they could fit Larsson in.

That's nice, he also hasn't done anything except wall the puck up here and there. With the way Zubrus is running cold now, there's only so many of the same guy you can have out there.

TG:

Sykora-Elias-Zubrus line's first game together was 10/25/11 at LA. They accounted for all 3 goals in 3-0 win. But LA goalie was Bernier.

The Kings' size is a lot more of a problem than their quickness. Neither Sykora or Josefson will help that but Sykora 'might' help the scoring. Plus it could be his last-ever NHL game, you know he'll be ready to go.

"The Devils have high standards, that's the difference. We have a standard to live up to every year, and a couple of teams in our area don't have the standards we do." - Pat Burns

The New Jersey Devils win Stanley Cups everywhere:
-NHL record for most road wins in the playoffs - 10-1 in '95 and 10-2 in '00
-NHL record for most home wins in the playoffs - 12-1 in '03

Shot: Sykora > Josefson

Virtually everything else: Josefson > Sykora

But at this point, who cares. Might as well try putting Sykora in.

Watched the practice at Toyota Center today about 2 hours ago.
Make no mistake - scratches came on at 12:40; team @ 1:00pm.
Hard practice, lots of passing drills, lots of boardwork drills. An interesting passing/one timer drill with the forwards lined up like a game of horse in front of the net.

Dave Barr worked a lot on blueline defensive boardwork with Larsson and Carter. They were smiling and having fun.

An interesting heated exchange between Cam and Boulton at the end when the scratches remained - but it seemed to simmer down.

Kovy is noticeably labored in skating and shot speed.

Lou watched a good portion of it from about 2 feet away from me while eating a chocolate bar. I asked him how he was holding up and he replied simply "OK".

Larry was in a good mood and signed a lot of autographs later at the bus.

TSN was shooting there and Dreger, Bmac, and Co. were all present.

Most folks stopped for autographs at the bus except MB30, Elias, ZP, Yayo (got right on the bus) and Zubrus.

I kept my distance to give the guys some respect and a wide berth given the situation.

Surprisingly, not a tense practice.
