On the day I proposed to my bride-to-be, the Devils eliminated the Rangers and moved on to the SCF.
The Devils didn't win another game until the day I asked my brother to be my Best Man.
Today, I placed a call to my long-time best friend to ask him to be my co-Best Man. Devils won. My friend didn't answer or return the call today, and I won't try to call him again until Monday, the day Game 6 will be played.
If this mojo keeps rolling, I think we've got this thing in the bag. You guys can rest easy. It's all good.

"I don't like those Rangers fans from New Jersey." - Jim Dowd

Cheapest seat in the building is $1K right now - that's in the nosebleeds.I don't believe this, but I guess LA is an event town - even so, I still don't believe that tickets + airfare here ends up being cheaper for Kings fans.

My guess is that they are not really Kings fans but pissed off Rangers fans like my wife.
My guess is that they are all Flyers fans that traded their Hextall jerseys in for old Gretzky ones!

Good game tonight. The D is still being too passive and allowing the Kings to walk in the slot and pick corners. Marty was saved by the post 2-3 times tonight. Great two-pad stack breakaway save by Marty. Marty has got to watch his weaker high-stick side. The Kings have been gunning for it and scoring there. We got a gift off the rare Quick slip up behind the net, but we still need more shots and one more goal a game to take some of the pressure off Marty. Keep those rebounds and deflections coming. If the Devils come back and win it in 7, it'll be the greatest comeback in NHL history. Just another achievement for Marty.
The Kings have a strong game plan. There's a reason they're in the finals, and led this series 3-0 at after three games. You can say Captain Obvious things like "Devils need more shots, Devils need to get 45+ shots on net a game, blah blah blah", but the Kings make it very hard...they're very fast and react well, and don't give you much space or time to do a whole lot. The Devils have done a great job coping with it, despite looking like the slower team at times...I think they're doing the best that they can. They turned the puck over a bit too much last night, but expecting the Devils to be perfect every single night and play mistake-free hockey isn't realistic.
The big difference between this Devils team and more recent Devils playoff teams, is that when other Devil teams looked like this one has at times during this series, it tended to snowball and get worse. This team doesn't buckle...they find a way to hang in there. Part of it was fortuitous bounces last night, but LA has gotten their share of luck too.

Even when Marty comes back maybe Larry should put Clemmensen to be on the goal during the shootouts.
Can the coach do that ? Switch the goalies 5 seconds to go in overtime? - Most priceless quote ever posted on a message board.
Martin Brodeur: THE MOST ALL-TIME WINS!, 12 straight seasons of 30+ wins, 3 Stanley Cups, 4 Vezina Trophies, and zero respect from too many so-called Devils "fans" who are either too young or too bandwagon to remember the much darker days of Sean Burke, Craig Billington, Bob Sauve, Alain Chevrier, and the talented but overwhelmed Chico Resch, among many others.
It's easy to support a great player when he's playing at his very best. It takes a true fan to support that same player during those rare moments and stretches when he's not. Babe Ruth went 0-4 some games, and sometimes Wayne Gretzky was held pointless. There may be such a thing as greatness, but no such thing as absolute perfection every single night.

It still costs money to travel. It's probably about break even to be honest. I went to Game 7 in Ottawa 2003 on *very* short notice, my ticket was $150 US, it did not cost me $150 to go to that game.

One of my best friends got married tonight, so I wasn't able to be at or see the game, but I was following all night on my phone. Just excited they were able to keep it going. Now let's get it back home for game 7.
People gotta learn not to schedule weddings during the Stanley Cup playoffs. Dang.

and the stupid questions they are asking the devils coach. I'd ask "was going back to LA a big motivation for youguys so you could see that porn stars big boobs behind you?"
Funny thing is the Kings have invited her back again. She claimed to be a "distraction" to the Devils. Apparently she cant read, because the box score clearly states the Devils won that game. Yeah, nice distraction.
