I'm not sure why people are acting like this has dragged on a long time. Free agency began on Sunday. It's still only Tuesday.
That is 100% true...it hasn't even been 48 hrs yet. I think most are frustrated only because Zach made it sound like he really wanted to be here, so I think a lot of fans took that to mean that this was going to get done very quickly...now that it's taking a little longer, people starting to pick apart everything he says and does, trying to see something that may or may not be there. I doubt even Zach knew how all of this was going to shake out...I saw his clip yesterday too, and I actually saw him as a guy who's probably getting tired of all of this (and the questions that come with it), but is trying not to rush his decision, and is really trying to understand it all...easy to forget that he's a player, not an agent or a lawyer, and some of the legal-ese and lawyer/agent speak in these offers might be overwhelming for him.
I think I'm just getting indifferent because though I like Zach a lot, I don't think the franchise falls apart without him here. Teams recover and move on.
THE NHL MUST LOVE THE DEVILS - from who else? A RANGER fan!
[Mark Messier]: A big, bald attention whore with a stupid Easter Island-lookin face. - from who else? DaneykoIsGod!
Even when Marty comes back maybe Larry should put Clemmensen to be on the goal during the shootouts.
Can the coach do that ? Switch the goalies 5 seconds to go in overtime? - Most priceless quote ever posted on a message board.
Martin Brodeur: THE MOST ALL-TIME WINS!, 12 straight seasons of 30+ wins, 3 Stanley Cups, 4 Vezina Trophies, and zero respect from too many so-called Devils "fans" who are either too young or too bandwagon to remember the much darker days of Sean Burke, Craig Billington, Bob Sauve, Alain Chevrier, and the talented but overwhelmed Chico Resch, among many others.
It's easy to support a great player when he's playing at his very best. It takes a true fan to support that same player during those rare moments and stretches when he's not. Babe Ruth went 0-4 some games, and sometimes Wayne Gretzky was held pointless. There may be such a thing as greatness, but no such thing as absolute perfection every single night.
