Holy shot yea.. This offseason is definitely gonna keep us entertained
I'd rather get a deal done with Zach and let the rest of the summer be very boring.

I think Lou expects to eventually have the penalty lifted as part of the new CBA.
Edit: I guess another possibility is that they already have the framework of a trade in place that includes the pick. Lindback, Bernier???

1st and who else for Steve Mason.
Edit: I have a feeling Mason will come here. What is value is? Who knows.
Edit #2. I say this because I'm not sure what our goaltending options are...and here's a kid who has had success in this league with his talent, behind a sh!tty team, sh!tty environment with horrid coaching. He could be a reclamation project. After all he did have Peter DeBoer in Kitchener and they won together. Also, I'd be in favor of this kid with a guy like Marty and him splitting time and mentoring him. It's the only way I would accept Marty back.

No way Nashville gives over Halischuk.

I wouldn't mind Kenopka. Dude can actually win face-offs.oh, you think halischuk is too much?! it was more of a joke than anything. i would give up most of the same for lindback/rads rights. i wouldn't be upset if instead of halischuk in that spot, the devils signed zenon kenopka to a similar deal.

i don't care if they think there's a great player there. you simply cannot gamble with this. i wanted them to deal the pick even if they lost in the first round to florida.
while i think the odds are very far against this scenario, imagine parise leaves, the devils do not get any forward to replace him, injury or ineffectiveness limit kovy, elias, zajac and henrique and marty repeats his first half of this season for the entire season. that's a bad team and could lead to a top 10 pick. then they're forced to give up 13/14 with no clue how it will turn out.

AFAIK the pick must be a "natural" first round pick for the Devils. It can't be a pick obtained from another team.
