4th line reunited, Harrold as well. THat's...curious
Not curious at all. If Sal walks, we need a replacement + Fayne may not be ready by the start of the season.

thats worst case scenario in terms of our forward lineup. lets say parise were to leave, we could resign Ponikarovsky and maybe snatch Parenteau or the dreaded Semin. then tedenby could jump in somewhere.

again, worst case. even then thats not a bad lineup offensively.

+1Harrold is a really good value for what he brings. I'm glad NJ signed him.
Solid defenseman with flashes of offensive skill. Good puck handler and skater too.

He's the player among those 4 (with Carter) I thought the Devils were best off keeping. I think his agent should have let him hit July 1. There must have been GMs' eyes on him during the playoffs. Dmen who can play the PP/handle the puck are coveted, I think a team could have offered a top 6 NHL job with the cash that comes with it. A bottom pairing Dman who plays the PP is a valuable piece. Makes more sense than overpaying Dennis Wideman.

Can I be upset about Gionta not getting enough money.I don't see how anyone can be even the slightest bit upset about any of those deals.
