Tom Gulitti ‏@TGfireandice
Teammates love Hedberg and, in particular, he serves as a mentor to the young Swedes on the team.

I failed to mention this earlier, but I think bringing back Hedberg is invaluable for Devils. He has great relationship with Brodeur.

I did not see this coming....2 more years of Marty & Moose ?
OK, Moose's salary can be bought out easily.

But I can't see how our chances of success in the post-season have increased with these 2 signings.
/me thinks this year #30 over-achieved & I do not see it happening again in 9-10 months time....

This is EXACTLY what I had said a little while back about bringing back Hedberg. I know a lot of people don't think about it like that, but having a vet around to kinda be like a father figure to them, to mentor, to just help them adjust to life in the NHL and life in NJ for that matter. It's a big thing for these young guys, especially until they get the security of their first contract that has that 7th digit in it.

Glad for Moose and glad for us. Today has been a good day for this team with the goaltenders being locked up. Hope we can continue some good luck.

Hedberg: "The grass isn’t always greener on the other side. ...I’ve been to a few places and I can say this is a very good one."

“I think winning against them in the big stage, not just for me, but for the fans of New Jersey, people that are supporting us and always take a second seat to these guys for whatever reason, now they’ve got to be pretty happy going to work and going to school and doing all their things that they do." - Martin Brodeur

Moose should call Parise with that quote.

Moose is the man. According to TG right now moose has a ton of great things to say about the devils. Love that guy

Too bad the difference between Moose passing on 500k extra and Zach passing on $30 million or so is astronomical.

Pretty much tells you what LL thinks about the goalies in the system...guess he thinks anyone who has a shot is at least a year away, but more likely two.

Yeah but one of those guys better be close to ready next year at least, I'm not counting on a 41-year old Marty and 41-year old Moose staying healthy throughout the whole season, I'm not sure a 40-year old Marty and Moose can do that, although if one of them is healthy at all times that works.

Good move, moose still has it and it gives time to the prospects to develop.
