Wonder if our coach will have a hand in choosing our next assistant coaches? Speculation Larry may go back to his "specialty" coaching duties. Dave Barr handled our pk last year and it was awesome. Oates took care of pp and it was on again/off again. Larry was great with the D. Red Wings just hired Renney. We need a pp specialist like Oates/Maclean were, both knowlegable.
Who's floatin around out there?

Whenever there is anything coaching, mike havilands name always seems to start floating around. Would he be a guy that could take over the pp? Im not too familiar with him

I've been thinking the same thing about the assistants... DeBoer probably will have a say.

The way this off-season is going Lou will probably hire Melrose as asst coach.

Thought about Sarge myself, , but I'm wondering if Albelin has a hankerin to move back to asst coach the big team? Unless Lou's has plans to make him coach of Albany. (not sure how long (Albany coach) Kawolsky is signed for.

Sarge can put on the foil & be a player-coach.
I think there is no doubt DeBoer will have a significant say in who gets hired, if not the majority of the say. I just don't see it being good binis to put an asst in place with a coach if they can not pork well together.

F yeah, I think it would be like the time that Nieds not elbowed by Domi and Stevens was flipping out in the box.

I think that if the Devils can add another dangerous shot to their powerplay it will start to work. When Kurtis Foster (whether you liked him or not) was playing the powerplay, opposing teams respected his shot and that gave Kovalchuk more space to work with as well. During that time period we saw much better production. No one respect's Elias' shot anymore because he hardly ever hits the net anymore. Zidlicky's good at keeping the puck moving, but his shot doesn't have the zip to scare a goalie anymore.
