assuming that they did it right and put his name on a plate and sewed the plate on, you could have the plate removed and replaced with another name:

sharifijanov (wore 8 more)
or wait until they give it out again to someone deserving
by doing it this way, the jersey still looks ok and you don't have the remnants of parise's name sewed into the sweater.
