I agree. I'm sick of having this PC BS shoved down my throat at every turn. Cam's interview was crass and classless, but who gives a flying F? If anyone was "truly" offended by his comments, they have some serious issues.

I'm sure that Devils management was offended, for one. I do agree that someone is not very perceptive if they expect an NHL enforcer to express anything but the most knuckle-dragging of sentiments.

Although Im sure he wouldve had to apologize just to make amends to Lou, I dont get the backlash from the non-hockey world. Its like people look for reasons to get upset and strip down any comment to find some malice in it. Cam didnt upset anyone. People dont even know who he is. Yet, its OMG hes an a-hole!

Also why isn't this you can play project just a complete anti bullying project? This whole thing is a joke and the NHL should stick to hockey and forget the politics. Speaking of bullies, didn't Brian Burke try to pull some strings to get Don Cherry fired?

whole thing is bogus. Kind of how I hate that many aspects of players' private lives are affected just because they are on a pro team. God forbid they go and do an interview on an unrated show and drop the F bomb. OMG the NHL P.C. Police are all over that because it...promotes hockey players as obnoxious gutter mouths. So what? You can't ever be just a normal person and do things like this while you're part of a team? Look when you're on the clock, OK I get that you're a professional and all that, you represent the league and the team, but NOT when you go home after the game, and not in the offseason doing casual interviews.

On the GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) website, Aaron McQuade, Director of News and Field Media at GLAAD, wrote, “Unlike some of the apologies we see, this one seems genuine and heartfelt, and it shows that Janssen understands the harm that statements like this can cause, especially to young LGBT athletes who aren’t sure of their place on their team or in their sport. We hope Janssen will make good on his attempt to rid his own vocabulary of anti-LGBT language, and that he will become a champion in the movement to make the world of sports inclusive of all people.”

"The $297,297 Kovalchuk missed today is money he will never, ever get back. And the more cheques he misses, the better the deal is going to have to be for the players to justify him sitting out. And unlike the owners, the players can direct their leadership to get a deal done regardless of how disadvantageous it is to them."

I think owning up to childish statements was sign of maturity on Cam's part.
Good for him.

The plan is to undermine the role of an independent press while constantly whining that any reportage that deviates from a staunch conservative narrative is biased … while at the same time filling the editorial vacuum that that creates by filling the propaganda juggernaut from under the guise of a news organization. And that organization would be called Fox News.

Socialism is no more impractical than capitalism - either in their purest form are ridiculous, unachievable ideals. A healthy society requires healthy doses of both.

Childish statements? Sure it was crass and he was a meathead but he didn't say anything that out of line.

Come on now.

Pathetic. Can even say anything on an unrated show without getting vilified by the pussified uber-sensitive retards of today's society. Is there a freedom of speech anymore? And GLADD can go fvck themselves for all I care; that corrupt craphole of an org is a reason why WWE sucks today.

The problem here is the major hypocrisy of it all. I've had gay co-workers, bosses, and friends even and the way they talk would put Cam's interview to shame. On top of that, I'm sure many of them would not even have a problem with what Cam said given the context of what he was talking about. I really hate these pro anything groups. This is the USA god damn it. We have the right to free speech, bare arms, and religious freedom. We also have the right to not take part in any of these things... fvck this pc sh!t that public groups have banded that tries to limit any of these freedoms. If I wanna own semi-automatic rifle it's my right. If I wanna fvck my best friend, that's my right too. (I don't by the way). If I wanna praise god, my right. If I wanna say fvck a god, my right too. It's the USA, motherfvckers! I went in the military to be a part of preserving these things. This is all bullsh!t and Cam is getting fvcked and shouldn't of had to apologize to anyone. If Lou doesn't agree fvck him too.

So because you disagree with the aims of the project because you think it's not wide enough in scope - and also there's not an athlete in the four major team sports that's said they're gay while playing, despite the fact that there simply has to be, by sheer law of averages, some homosexuals there - it's a joke.

Also, what does Brian Burke have to with the YCP project? Yes, his son runs it, and yes, he's spoken in favor of it.

The Constitution doesn't give you the right to tell your boss to fvck off without getting fired. It just says that Congress can't make a law that inhibits your speech. Likewise, NHL contracts have a morality clause written into them - NHL players have the right to say what they please, but they also have the right to accept NHL or team suspensions for doing so (e.g. Sean Avery).
