Hmmm well see.........I am neutral right now on this. I've been Macleaned so I am very distrustful of former Devils player to coaches.
MacLean was a great assistant coach, though.

good point. We know we have a good head coach anyways - that's really all that matters and whether or not Shaw can make our pp score.

My jersey is relevant again
This nearly made me fall off my chair!
By that standard if you want a relevant item buy a suit jacket with Stevens stitched onto the back of it!!
PK "retiring" sucks.
I know you are out there PK!!!

[Mark Messier]: A big, bald attention whore with a stupid Easter Island-lookin face. - from who else? DaneykoIsGod!
Even when Marty comes back maybe Larry should put Clemmensen to be on the goal during the shootouts.
Can the coach do that ? Switch the goalies 5 seconds to go in overtime? - Most priceless quote ever posted on a message board.
Martin Brodeur: THE MOST ALL-TIME WINS!, 12 straight seasons of 30+ wins, 3 Stanley Cups, 4 Vezina Trophies, and zero respect from too many so-called Devils "fans" who are either too young or too bandwagon to remember the much darker days of Sean Burke, Craig Billington, Bob Sauve, Alain Chevrier, and the talented but overwhelmed Chico Resch, among many others.
It's easy to support a great player when he's playing at his very best. It takes a true fan to support that same player during those rare moments and stretches when he's not. Babe Ruth went 0-4 some games, and sometimes Wayne Gretzky was held pointless. There may be such a thing as greatness, but no such thing as absolute perfection every single night.

I can't wait for Torts to start sh!t again. Stevens doesn't get into shouting matches like Mac or DeBo. He kills.
I've been thinking the same thing.. We've seen PDB vs Torts, Torts vs Lavi, Lavi vs Bylsma..
As much as you need an enforcer on the ice in the Atlantic Division, it seems like you need one on the bench even more

Coaching has been so puzzling for NJ. You look at the structure we have, you would think we would have a Lindy Ruff type longevity. I don't want to think about Steven's as a head coach... because I want to ride with PDB for the ups and downs, and not can him in the first losing streak.
I do think Lou has been too quick to fire coaches, but it is kind of amazing how shooting percentage dries up around here.

I did see when that happened, and I thought the same thing, that maybe Marty knew about it and posted it early by accident.Does anyone else follow (or I should say "like") Martinbrodeur30.com on Facebook? The reason i ask is about a week or 2 ago (whenever it was announced that Oates was leaving) i was going through "My Wall" on Facebook and there was a status update / article posted by MartinBrodeur30.com with something to the effect of "Devils Name Scott Stevens Asst. Coach" and when I clicked the link on it to the website it was a dead link and when I clicked back on my browser that status update was gone; forever. Long story short, it's like Marty (or really whomever runs his site) knew this a couple weeks ago and posted it by mistake and i happened to catch it for a split second. Not really news or anything, just wanted to share...
PS - I like Scott Stevens.

Ftorek and Robinson the first time. Given that the only other true firing was Julien - Robinson stepped down, Sutter left, Burns had to step down - that's a lot.

moments from a professional standpoint. a bench!? I could see a stick or a water bottle or something loose, but to throw a bench!?
Every time I watch that video I always wonder how the Red Wings cannot afford a real bench where it is bolted to the ground like every other arena. I know it was back in 2000 and the Joe is one of the older arenas but c'mon lol.
