Godamnit its depressing to see our AHL team go...

Just finished watching Windsor-Kitchener, which involved two Devils -

Ben Johnson is clearly used as a tough-minutes sort of player by Windsor - PK, defensive zone starts, not involved on the power play. I imagine this was a particularly good game for him, it felt like the puck was on his stick all the time, and it also felt like he played 20+ minutes. The shootout went 6 rounds and he was not used. Reminds me of Zharkov with his speed. Also seemed to pass the puck in the O zone without much support or forethought. Still, I think a lot more of him after tonight's game than I did just by seeing his numbers.

Ben Thomson was being used on the first power play unit in front of the net, but that might be because of injuries to key Rangers. He was also not used on the shootout. Didn't really make an impact in this one, though he had a good close-in chance.

Boucher will likely be a weak minute offensive scorer at the next level. If he can play 13 min ES and 2 PP minutes at the NHL level I will be impressed.

Boucher, Matteau and Pietila all have a pretty soog shot at making Team USA at the 2013 WJC. Boucher seems to be a lock considering his chemistry with Galchenyuk. Matteau and Pietila both make solid 4th line choices.

I get that Boucher's numbers are probably inflated by Galchenyuk, but you cant overlook the chemistry they have.

I can't see not taking him as a 13th forward at least. He would have the best shot in the tourney and would be invaluable late in a game looking for a tieing goal. It isn't as if he was clutch for the USA in the past though....haha what a joke.

Could be revenge for spurning USHL/NCAA for junior, I think he's a fringe player on that team anyway. Not being invited to camp seems like a snub though
