Just one week into the season and the Miami hockey team is already collecting awards as sophomore forward Blake Coleman was named CCHA Postgame Offensive Player of the Week, the Central Collegiate Hockey Association announced Monday.

Coleman (Plano, Texas) had a huge opening weekend to lead the RedHawks to a season-opening sweep of Colgate last Friday and Saturday. He scored three goals while adding an assist in the two games for a four-point weekend. Friday, he scored a pair of goals for his third career multi-goal game, including the first goal of the game and the season, which was the game-winner in the 3-0 shutout. His second goal of the night he scored unassisted. The physical center was the No. 1 star in Friday's game.

In Saturday's 5-1 win over the Raiders, Coleman again notched multiple points with a power play goal and an assist on Miami's third goal. It was his first time recording back-to-back multi-point games as he did not record back-to-back multi-point games all of last season. Coleman now has seven multi-point games for his career. He posted a +2 rating Friday and a +1 rating Saturday for a +3 rating on the weekend while also firing nine shots on goal.

mainly just poor penalty kill. The second PP goal was a great shot/play by the Crunch. It all started though because the ref dropped the puck before henrique got set up in the circle

Thanks for the heads up. I only got to watch a few shifts, but Tedenby just had a nice one.

Your unconditional rejection of violence makes you smugly think of yourselves as noble, as enlightened, but in reality it is nothing less than abject moral capitulation to evil. Unconditional rejection of self-defense, because you think its a supposed surrender to violence, leaves you no resort but begging for mercy or offering appeasement.

Yepp, just tuned in. Great shift by Teddy. Some Parise like hustle and hard work along with some niftyness there in the corners and around the net.

Pietila took 13 draws? Maybe he'll have positional flexibility too.

Ive actually heard really good things about him. I think it was Zubrus that was saying how impressed he was with the kid. I also think it was Conte that said they expect him to become a good 3rd-2nd liner that can take the body and that they wished the Devils had more of it
