That last line was the dumbest thing I've ever read. The lengths to which these morons will go to try and back up their moronic/wishful thinking opinions about the Devils long-rumored demise are hilarious. My message to all hockey media/fans of opposing and inferior organizations: We're the Devils. And we'll be there to piss in your beer once again, motherfvckers. So drink up and enjoy the taste.I like how they stand by their assertion that our defense is "perilously thin" after literally this exact same group got us to the finals last year. But oh, don't forget folks that this team was "one goal away from being eliminated in round 1". What a joke.

You don't turn this around in a couple shifts. Its going to take a little time, but I know the guys will come back. Because I can see it. -- Jacques Lemaire

In ways I'm not surprised by the predictions, and they stopped bothering me a long time ago. They don't mean much once the season starts...just writers with opinions. I do think the Devils will be OK without Parise, but the knee-jerk reaction from most writers (many of whom don't see nearly as many Devils games as we do) will be that the Devils are screwed without Zach. So be it. I've seen too many teams from all sports that supposed to fall apart due to the free-agent defection of a star player, yet recover quite well.
That being said, there are questions marks going into this season. Does Clarkson have 30 more goals in him? What does Brodeur have left? Can Zajac return to the 60-70 point from he showed a few seasons ago? Can the 4th line conjure up the same magic they showed in the playoffs? Will Elias be able to come close to the near-PPG production of last season?
[Mark Messier]: A big, bald attention whore with a stupid Easter Island-lookin face. - from who else? DaneykoIsGod!
Even when Marty comes back maybe Larry should put Clemmensen to be on the goal during the shootouts.
Can the coach do that ? Switch the goalies 5 seconds to go in overtime? - Most priceless quote ever posted on a message board.
Martin Brodeur: THE MOST ALL-TIME WINS!, 12 straight seasons of 30+ wins, 3 Stanley Cups, 4 Vezina Trophies, and zero respect from too many so-called Devils "fans" who are either too young or too bandwagon to remember the much darker days of Sean Burke, Craig Billington, Bob Sauve, Alain Chevrier, and the talented but overwhelmed Chico Resch, among many others.
It's easy to support a great player when he's playing at his very best. It takes a true fan to support that same player during those rare moments and stretches when he's not. Babe Ruth went 0-4 some games, and sometimes Wayne Gretzky was held pointless. There may be such a thing as greatness, but no such thing as absolute perfection every single night.

In 2011, Boston was also one goal from being eliminated in round 1. Don't hear much about that from the media.

probably my favorite line i've ever read on this website hahah. But seriously, the hockey news does this every year and it makes it that much more fun pissing them off! We're the Devils. And we'll be there to piss in your beer once again, motherfvckers. So drink up and enjoy the taste.
Devils + The Prudential Center = The Stanley Cup
Martin Brodeur gets win #500 11-17-07
Martin Brodeur gets win #552 3-17-09. I was there.
Doc Emrik's "they're josling in the corner", Elias' team record 365th assist, and Devils' 12th Dec 2008 8-5 win over the Rags. Clarkson's "Gordie Howe hat-trick" against the panthers on 2-28-09. The "A" Line. Marty's 100th career shutout. Zubrus's game winner over the Rags (09/22/09).

I'm with you!! I say, Shhhhhhh!Gonna be honest here... I dig the disrespect every year. It's almost an honor as each of these sports writers wants to be the "one" to finally predict the Devils demise. Been happening for the better part of 20 years now, and once I read that I feel that all is right in the universe. Oh, and I love that last line. Hey, guess what there genius? We were also 2 goals away from winning the Stanley Cup. Keep up the good work!
