NHL commissioner Gary Bettman has already said that the owners will lock out the players if a new collective bargaining agreement is not in place by the time the old one expires on Sept. 15, which is now only 16 days away. As the league awaits a counterproposal from the NHLPA on the proposal it submitted on Tuesday – which may or may not come before the end of the week – it released today its national television broadcast schedule for 2012-13.

If the season starts on time, the Devils are scheduled to appear on NBC Sports Network eight times, beginning with their Oct. 17 home game against the Rangers (7:30 p.m. start). They have no games scheduled to be telecast on NBC.

Good, I cant stand McGuire when he does Devils games. I enjoy a few of the NBCSN guys like Strader, the Lightning and Hurricanes play by play guys are good also.

Oh well. Looks like we'll have to force them to televise our games in the spring again. Get those Cheerios ready so we can take a nice steaming dump in them, NBC.

We were on NBSN a lot last year maybe we got one of two more this season.
If I remember correctly we were on for two ranger games, two bruin games, sabres, lightning, and montreal.

What am I missing? Why do we care as long as we get 82 games on TV with MSG. Is the excitement about HD coverage?

...isn't 8 games pretty usual for the Devils?
