I thought the KHL reported earlier today that all NHL contracts will be honored, now they say this?Don't know if anyone else has seen this yet:

Sounds pretty scary....
“I think winning against them in the big stage, not just for me, but for the fans of New Jersey, people that are supporting us and always take a second seat to these guys for whatever reason, now they’ve got to be pretty happy going to work and going to school and doing all their things that they do." - Martin Brodeur

I was confused about that as well.
Seems like the KHL really wants players like Kovy to stay with them, and now are saying they will stop at nothing to do so...
I'm looking at TG's twitter for all this info btw...

Agreed, it's a bummer that after a week were the lockout essentially ends and the financial situation gets resolved that we still got to deal with this bsI dont believe any of this will come to fruition but its just really annoying.

Maybe it won't take NHL fan protests to stop lockouts, just a stronger KHL

Zach was no doubt in my mind the hardest working player on the team. But that doesn't make him the best or most talented. I think you need players like Parise or Callahan on your team. Players that lead by example. But that work ethic can only get you so far. Zach wasn't dominant in the playoffs, and while I wouldn't say kovy was either he was playing with a serious injury and still out produced a healthy Parise.
Parise had to play with a hobbled Kovalchuk while Kovalchuk got to play with a healthy Parise. Kovalchuk had 1 even strength goal that was into a full net for the entire playoffs. I'm working on 'advanced' stats for the playoffs, but Parise did very well in that regard.

They're saying that they won't force players to leave, and if they want to stay then they'll help them

Yeah, all at our expense.

Devils + The Prudential Center = The Stanley Cup
Martin Brodeur gets win #500 11-17-07
Martin Brodeur gets win #552 3-17-09. I was there.
Doc Emrik's "they're josling in the corner", Elias' team record 365th assist, and Devils' 12th Dec 2008 8-5 win over the Rags. Clarkson's "Gordie Howe hat-trick" against the panthers on 2-28-09. The "A" Line. Marty's 100th career shutout. Zubrus's game winner over the Rags (09/22/09).

Zach didn't play the entire playoffs on a line with kovy though. I would say the majority of the playoffs they were together but I think they were split up for the flyers and some of the rangers series. I could be wrong though. Either way I don't think Zach's playoff performance was a product of the way kovy played (good or bad). I just think Zach was never a game changer in terms or big goals or big assists or anything. I think the best Zach moment of the playoffs was when he chased down that Florida player in game 6 which ended up contributing to Zajac's OT winner.Parise had to play with a hobbled Kovalchuk while Kovalchuk got to play with a healthy Parise. Kovalchuk had 1 even strength goal that was into a full net for the entire playoffs. I'm working on 'advanced' stats for the playoffs, but Parise did very well in that regard.
