It's absolutely amazing that the St. Louis Blues are doing so well and according to Cap Geek they've spent the least amount of money in the NHL.
Tarasenko is a massive reason behind that. He's playing out of his freaking mind.

It's a bunch of young players who haven't hit the jackpot yet. Once Pietrangelo alone gets paid, that's alone another $7 million.

What caught me was how sedate the Minny crowd was. I'm assuming they had a sellout, and in a tight/exciting game they were pretty much silent.

Funny how big of a man crush Pierre McGuire has on Dougie Hamilton. Even though he wasn't playing in the game last night, his name was mentioned 3 times as being "great" and a "future superstar in this league for a long time to come."
Pierre's a bit like Ron Jaworski in that he makes it sound like every prospect is going to be a superstar. He gushed over Larsson as well.
The only exception is when he went on a rant about the Canadians drafting Carey Price:

Hello fellow American. This you should vote me. I leave power. Good. Thank you, thank you. If you vote me, I'm hot. What? Taxes, they'll be lower... son. The Democratic vote is the right thing to do Philadelphia, so do.

Detroit scored the go-ahead goal on the ensuing 5-minute major power play.
Still 2:30 to go, but these refs have been overly sensitive & erring way too far on the side of caution this year, IMO.

Shanahan should laugh at the match penalty tape for Backes tomorrow.

Backes got tossed in the Blues-Wings game for a "hit to the head" when his check was CLEARLY to the chest.

Bettman to henchmen:
"Are powerplays up this year?"
"Yes, Sir. Powerplays this season have so far matched the total amount of powerplays all last season."
"Excellent!"

He didn't leave his feet, he didn't target the head. It was a clean body check. These refs are fvcking clownshoes, even moreso than they usually are.

The call on Backes was maybe the worst hockey call I've ever seen, ever. He was FINISIHING HIS CHECK. Now you get 5 and a game for FINISHING YOUR CHECK? ARE YOU fvckING KIDDING ME?!!!!

Nah, the non-call on Erskine was worse because of how the refs were positioned:

WOW, Nash just toasted Hedman with a speed move! got around him wide and just cut hard to the goal where he stuffed it.Absolutely no defense in this Rangers Lightning game, fun to watch.

We are all going deaf! Not sure if it is just me or not but does anyone else have an issue hearing Doc this year? The crowd and rink sounds are loud but I need to turn my TV up really loud to hear Doc clearly. Maybe it is just my TV but I feel the same way about the other TV at my house.
...I have no problem hearing him. I just hate the MSG feed because you cant hear the play or crowd at all. CBC and TSN are the best.
