My God... I pray Staal was able to close his eye before that puck hit. I refuse to watch the video if it's as bad as you guys say. The still photos are bad enough. Hope he's okay.

Sorry to see Staal get hurt like that. I really hope he isn't blind.
EDIT: Watching that video was hard, just can't imagine that kind of pain. Hopefully a few more players put visors on their helmets.

Reminds me of Bryan Berard's injury except that was with Hossa's follow-through of a slap shot.
I don't care that Staal plays for the Rangers, that's brutal. I hope his sight recovers.

Update on Marc Staal: http://m.nydailynews...overy-after-und It sounds like perhaps he avoided permanent damage to his eye, but he's out indefinitely. Hopefully it's not as serious as it appears.
