“I think winning against them in the big stage, not just for me, but for the fans of New Jersey, people that are supporting us and always take a second seat to these guys for whatever reason, now they’ve got to be pretty happy going to work and going to school and doing all their things that they do." - Martin Brodeur

Pretty hilarious huh? The only thing funnier is one of my friends who's a Phailures fan thinks this game will spark them. I love laughing at these two loser franchises.Wait a minute... So the Rangers play the WORST and most tactically unsound Flyers in almost 10 years, an 0-2 team missing guys like Briere and Hartnell from the lineup, and lose 2-1?

The Flyers were way overdue for a win against the Rangers, the Rangers swept them all six games last year I think.

Capitals look god awful, absolutely no system.
thats what i saw too the other day, its horrible how its obvious that there's no structure to their play at all.
that being said i hope we don't lose tomorrow or we dont have excuses at all haha

Gomez + Oleg Tverdovsky. Here's actually an old article from the Post about it: http://www.njdevs.co...?showtopic=3331Watching Yotes Sharks and they are talking to Gomez. He was talking about a game where he and I didn't hear who else were healthy scratches for a deal to San Jose for Selanne
I remember being disappointed that year when the Devils biggest acquistion was Marshall....worked out pretty damn well though! Then Burns tightened the screws, sitting out Gomez and Tverdovsky after the deadline passed, making them look like the principals of a trade that fell through, probably when Teemu Selanne refused to come to New Jersey.
Indications were that Lamoriello tried seriously yesterday to acquire first Selanne, then Vincent Damphousse, Mike Ricci, Scott Thornton and Marco Sturm from San Jose, Jarome Iginla and Chris Drury from Calgary, Miroslav Satan from Buffalo and Martin Straka from Pittsburgh.
He came up empty on every front. The deal that made the most sense for the Devils, bringing in Selanne, apparently fell apart because the Finnish winger refused to waive his no-trade clause to come to New Jersey. One source said Selanne exercised that veto on several teams.
Gomez and Tverdovksy may have been ingredients in a deal for Selanne and/or Damphousse, who was also said to refuse a trade. Gomez was demoted to the fourth line after a glaring giveaway in Saturday's victory at Nassau.
