Hopefully they're not shopping him.

Who, Fayne?  It's a pretty funny way to be shopping him by having him benched.

This eight D nonsense has to end, now.  It's already caused too many issues, from the sitting of Larsson the first two weeks to the sitting of Fayne now, and the lack of flexibility up front with only one forward spot available.

"The Devils have high standards, that's the difference. We have a standard to live up to every year, and a couple of teams in our area don't have the standards we do." - Pat Burns

The New Jersey Devils win Stanley Cups everywhere:
-NHL record for most road wins in the playoffs - 10-1 in '95 and 10-2 in '00
-NHL record for most home wins in the playoffs - 12-1 in '03

The only logical explanation I can come up with as to why Lou hasn't sorted this out is because they fear Volchenkov and/or Salvador are likely candidates to go down with injuries at some point.

He better have a minor injury that they aren't telling us about because it is ridiculous.

At this point I am under the impression he has some sort of injury.

I don't know anything, I just wanted to post something. I hear the package for O'Reilly is steep. Maybe the Devils are willing to bite.

I don't know why Lou would be pathologically afraid of one or even two injuries considering we have Harrold that played a ton of playoff games last year and did fairly well.  Supposedly D's our organizational strength so having to call up an Urbom in case of 'two' injuries is better than most teams would do.

I don't get why we're not afraid of what happens if forwards keep going down?  Especially with Kovy shattering personal records for icetime.  Ironically all our injuries have been up front so far where we have less depth to begin with.

They need some D. The spare parts that consist of Salvador and Volchenkov barely add up to one NHL Defenseman.

Lets Go Devils  We should win the next 4 against the bottom dwellers. However we always make these type of games difficult for ourselves.

They are definitely out working the Caps so far.

NEW JERSEY In keeping with the fact they are the Devils, New Jersey actually went with a villain by the name of Lex Lou-Lamoriello, an evil genius who finds ways to get around the salary cap until he is stopped in his tracks by Bett-man.

Solid 1st period for the Devils but I'm not a fan of the phantom call Greene got against Ovechkin at the end. That was the classic, "guy trips himself on scoring chance...gotta give a penalty" bs call. Hopefully the Devils can continue to outshoot Washington and get some goals in the 2nd.
