If Kovy is out we need to go all in for a big deadline acquisition.

Man,I don't feel too well after seeing that Kovy injury. Sestito didn't look good either.

I'm glad there are so many medical doctors that are also Devils fans.

And it took -- what -- two posts to determine the team is missing the playoffs and the season is over?

...this team is an 6th-8th seed with Kovy, there's no acquisition that can replace his production.

If that last ten minutes is the best they can do without Kovy, it's going to look like 2010 again in a hurry.

"The Devils have high standards, that's the difference. We have a standard to live up to every year, and a couple of teams in our area don't have the standards we do." - Pat Burns

The New Jersey Devils win Stanley Cups everywhere:
-NHL record for most road wins in the playoffs - 10-1 in '95 and 10-2 in '00
-NHL record for most home wins in the playoffs - 12-1 in '03

To be fair: Kovy didn't figure into either of the goals.

Deboer just said kovy will be out at least a short time per TG and Chere

I hope the devils doctors use their Hollywood Upstairs Medical College degrees to good use on kovy. We need him back ASAP!

Vanek anyone??????

But suddenly the Sabres are 2 points out of a play-off spot, so they might be buyers instead of sellers.

I'm thinking the scouts were there tonight to look at Brian Campbell. I saw a segment today on TSN that speculated about Florida wanting to trade away his contract.

As for Kovy, it sucks, but I'm not as panicked as when Marty was out.

Now this is completely overreacting. The PP today didn't score with him on it either. The next few weeks has a good possibility to suck but nothing is certain yet. This will be a good gut check for the devils.

I don't think any magic shot's going to fix this one.  You don't need a PHD to tell it was a serious injury with the way he was holding his shoulder.  He led the team in playoff scoring with a bad back, if something's severe enough to knock him out and then have Pete laying the groundwork in the postgame for not having him a while, then forget seeing him till May if we're lucky.

If they hadn't **** the bed so many times this last month, they could at least have a comfortable enough lead on a playoff spot where you could just coast in and hope to get Kovy back sometime in the first round.  Of course this could be a 'months' long injury where it won't matter anyway.

I was just trying to inject some humor in a pretty ba situation lol.

Honestly I think he will be out minimum two weeks but probably closer to four to six.
